Small Review of Vanderbilt wedding...
Ok so I have a few pictures that I can show of you the wedding now!
The ground of the mansion are really very pretty. It is right on the water in oakdale and they have the ceremony on the back lawn overlooking the water. The mansion itself is very classic looking. When we got there it was getting ready to downpour so they were moving chairs inside to have the ceremony indoors. Kind of a bummer but knowing the bride and groom they were still fine with it! Now usually when they have indoor ceremonies they have them in the indoor atrium room. However, I have a feeling that it was too hot in there so what they did was they moved the tables to the side int he reception room and had the ceremony in there. Kind of anti climactic for the actual party, but hey. it was still awesome.
While we were waiting to go inside, there was a bar open. I was feeling dehydrated and woozy so I asked if i could have a cup of water. The bartender said 'Well, m not open but I guess i will give you one..'
This made me annoyed lol
Anyway, pastor april married them and it was such a beautiful ceremony. SO personalized and unique to the two of them. Just amazing. I cried. the whole time.
After the ceremony we moved into the lobby and CH room. They had some cheeses and crackers, fruit and veggies, a martini bar and some hot appetizers being passed around.
Next we moved into the reception room again. Her centerpieces were really pretty...Brad and I actually one our tables lol! I will post a pic of that later. The service was pretty good at the place. Although sometimes a waiter or waitress would bump into us without saying excuse me or kind of push us to the side to get by. Also, I almost died because the grooms mom went to take a roll from the waitresses basket and the waitress slapped her hand!
can you believe that?
They chose to have a cocktail buffet style dinner so that people could keep dancing without having to sit down for a formal dinner. The idea was great except the way that the buffet was set up it ended up taking longer than just eating a formal dinner would have.
LAstly, as you saw in my other post, the night didnt end as well for them as we would have liked. THe bride is ok, but what a crummy thing to have happen! We had a blast and it was so amazing to watch such wonderful people share this experience...made us really excited for our own..which is a year and 2 days away lol
here are a few pics of the happy couple!
