Small Wedding

Re: Small Wedding

originally i wanted less than 100 - but then i fell in love with a room at my hall that had a minimum of 150 so now we added a BUNCH of extra people

but about the 'big empty space' - i recently took my mom to see my room ( that has a min. of 150) and she FREAKED OUT bc she thought it was too small. . . we asked how many it was set up for and the guy said i think about 90 - but the way they set it up is COMPLETELY different from how they would set it up for 200

you should definitely ask to sneak a peek at your place set up for your amount of people - they DEFINITELY know what they are doing. . . they purposely set it up for each number of people to make it look like there is a full room without making it look like there is too many people in the room!

also - i agree that you will have a much more intimate and personal affair - and that is always wonderful!

HTH!

Re: Small Wedding

Don't stress...we invited over 155 people to our wedding and pretty much half of my FH's family is not coming so...we just made a tad over 100! his side is going to be very empty so I have to call our BM and see if we can play around with the tables.

Its stinks but those who will be there are the most important ones

Good Luck

I agree! We are having about 75 people and I know that I will get to spend time with everyone and that the people at the wedding will be in my life years from now. I wont be looking at wedding pics saying, 'WHO is THAT?' or 'I feel so bad I didnt get to spend time with....'

You are going to have a blast surrounded by people who love you and whom you love!

We had a response of nearly 50%. At first I was angry, but then I realized that the people that were going to be there were the ones that WANTED to be there. We decided that it would be great to celebrate with those there than be sad over those not there. And we had a great time!

I wish I could have 80 people!!! I'm marrying into a VERY Italian HUGE family.. so I have no choice.. But if I could I would love to have 80 people!!! less expensive too!!

Re: Small Wedding

My wedding will be about 120 and that's not what we wanted. We were looking for 75- 80 until we started making the list and FH has 65 immediate family members including first cousins! So that would leave me with just 15 people on my side! I say the smaller the better. It's more intimate and you don't miss as much 'goings on' as you do with the larger weddings.

Either way your day will be Perfect!!

Hi - we invited 168 and only 102 are attending. We are super excited because we only wanted 100 people but the list kept growing. I have been to serveral weddings with 70 - 80 guests and they have felt more intimate to me.

we are even smaller.....about 25!
But that is why we chose the place we did. The room is amazing and so perfect for our guest list and really represents my fiance and I.

I think that small is nice. It makes the wedding intimate. My brother's wedding was small and I thought it was a lot of fun. Don't stress it! What's important is that you have the ones you love with you and FH to celebrate your marriage.

I whis hI was. FH is a social butterfly and his family is huge so we have 165 on our list.
A friend of mine had about the same number 80-90 people and it was so much nicer than an enormous wedding I went to last month that had about 330! The bride and groom were able to great averybody and talk to them, unlike the larger wedding where they weren't able to say hi to everyone!
Think of this way- Everyone that is abl to come will more than likely be your closest family and freinds. That and they're there specifically for you and your FH. I state again I wish our was smaller, but you're going to enjoy it either way!

Re: Small Wedding

i am jealous! we wanted something so intimate and we ended up with a lot more. i can't complain about my wedding size, because i'm very happy with my wedding, but you will actually have the time to spend with each guess and really thank them and make them feel welcome! jmo

Re: Small Wedding

I am hoping to have a small wedding, but I know when we start doing our guest lists it will continue to grow. If it was up to my FH we would have 10 people at the wedding LOL.
I think a smaller wedding is more personal & intimate. Either way I am sure it will be your dream wedding and absolutely perfect.

Re: Small Wedding

i am having between 75-100, my room only fits 100, i like a small wedding you get to really see and speak to everyone,
my sister had about 60 people at her wedding, and it was one of the best weddings i have ever been too, just look at all the positive aspects of a small wedding and know these are the people that really want to be there for you
