Small Wedding Help

Hi Ladies,

FH and I decided a while back to cancel our plans for a big wedding here on Long Island. We decided to sell our house and upgrade to a brand new one. Which is what we're in the process of doing. We wanted a new house and new furniture and decided that was more important to us then a huge wedding. My mom isnt very happy about it which has made things pretty rough lately. But we decided to have our ceremony in Las Vegas. For $1,300 we got a huge suite at Treasure Island plus airfare for the two of us for 4 days and 3 nights. We'll also be getting married in the chapel at Treasure Island which is beautiful. The have a package that is $1,200 on a Friday evening wedding that includes SOO much. Amazing flowers, photography with Las Vegas' #1 Studio, ceremony DVD, music, decorated chapel, officiant, massage, makeup and updo in their salon, limo ride to get the marriage license and more. I'm actually much more excited about this then our original plans. I was getting so nervous and frustrated planning a big wedding and I hated it. Always follow your own heart....

We decided to have a small dinner reception here on Long Island once we get back for family and close friends...about 45 people. The place where we originally wanted we found out is selling to new owners and they wont do what we had planned. Therefore I'm desperately looking for a place to hold this. It can be a nice restaurant with a private party room as well. Somewhere with good food and somewhere pref. in Nassau or Western Suffolk county. We're looking to spend around $50 per person for dinner and unlimited beer, wine and soda w/ dessert (not nec. as wedding cake) Something informal and simple.

Any help would be great!! TIA

I second Seventh Street Cafe.

Also check out Milleridge Inn (you can have it at the restaurant), Bridgeview Yacht Club, Verdi's and George Washington Manor. These places usually will be able to accomodate smaller parties like you are looking to have.

George Washington Manor is nice.

This is where I got married.

I had 32 guests. They have several rooms to accomodate different size parties.

Menu was $30-$55.

All my guests loved it.
