Small wedding/restaurant?

A friend of mine is looking for a small place to have her wedding. 35-50 people. She wants to get married at the hall/restaurant. Wants to keep it inexpensive. Needs a place in Nassau. Any ideas gals? She was thinking about Millerege Inn, (not the cottage) but I dont think they marry on the premises..unless your using the cottage??? What cha think?

Perhaps no other vendor has had such problems because nothing as touchy (controversal) had been addressed by a vendor.

Debby, Yes, unless they've changed, I've done ceremonies @ Inn. Any favorite restaurant would be able to accomodate that # of people. Most restaurants are willing to close off the whole place or at least a room.

Hey! How are you? I don't know the price but I believe that Crystalbrook is pretty reasonable and small, I went to a wedding there, they also had the ceremony there. It was very nice, the food was amazing, the service was good, I'm sorry I don't know their minimum. You should give them a call, they are in East Meadow.

Hi June! I am still searching for a florist. I have an appt. with Burtons on Rte 110 in Melville. (was recommended by a friend).. Thanks for the info on Crystalbrook. She checked there already. She wanted someplace simple/inexpensive. I thought of Wickers in Hicksville (they have a hall downstairs) for a minimum of 50 people. That might be more her speed. Hope your plans are coming together nicely!

There is a place in Lake Ronkonkoma called The Beach Club which can handle weddings and receptions of that size. The wedding can be either inside or outside and the prices are pretty reasonable. I don't have the number handy but you can also get it by calling Windows on the Lake(the same people own both places).

Thanks..but we were looking at Nassau County. I know the Beach Club and I think its great for small parties!

Tatiana, I can relate to how you're feeling. I was so overwhelmed that we didn't go looking at places for six months, we didn't know where to start. My suggestion to you would be to start looking at reception sites. A lot of those places include the site, catering, flowers, & cake. Which makes things a little easier. If you got a good feeling from the wedding center, post on this board, people may have had experiences with them they're willing to share. Just remember to take things slowly and not stress out too much. My fiancé is very mellow and at first it drove me crazy, but now I've adopted some of his attitude. Things will get done whether you stress or not, so try not to stress too much. Easier said than done, I know. ;-)

I'm new to this whole wedding planning thing and I am beginning to feel extremely overwhelmed. I am trying to be very organized about this and I figured that if I did one aspect at a time it would go smoothly. This doesn't seem to be the case, especially now that I went to a bridal center and left almost in tears. The guy there was really friendly, and it seems too helpful, because I almost drowned in the different PACKAGES he offered for EVERYTHING.(The word package gives me nightmares now)
