small weddings

Original post by akrasner

I just got engaged 2 weeks ago, and I'm new to LI weddings. I'm looking to get married spring '08, but I'm getting frustrated looking at places to hold the reception. We will be having a small wedding (125-150) and most places want a guarantee of much higher than that on a weekend evening. Does anybody have any suggestions to nice places that cater to smaller affairs?

CLM has a minimum of 140 in the downstairs room..and 100 in the upstairs..and its great there..

We had this same problem!!! Thats why we booked Thursday night at the Woodlands!

A lot of places allow it. I think the Metropolitan said it would be ok on a Friday. All the places the girls said already. Roslyn Claremont Hotel said it ok. The Swan Club. Westbury Manor.

I don't know what day you are looking for, but Crest Hollow Country Club gave me a 120 minimum for a Friday night in March.

First welcome to LI weddings and the 08 boards!

My RH (Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach) only made us guarantee 125 people .. however they do have a smaller room available.. I'd check them out .. they're really elegant at reasonable prices.

Also I'd recommend checking out Roma View Catering also in Howard Beach- they're reasonably priced and have a great staff as well.

I know these are in Queens, but there's so many in LI that others have mentioned.

we're having about 140-150 guests, and are having it at the Harbor Club in Huntington. We also checked out the Ventian Yacht Club, the Riviera, and Crest Hollow CC. Coral House in Baldwin has a smaller room and it's supposed to be nice also.

FYI - if you're interested in getting married on a Friday or a Sunday, usually the hall has smaller minimums.
