I am in search of a reception hall (approx 130 ppl), we are planning to get married in March 2011 so we are looking for more of a winter setting... We really like the ambiance of Fox Hollow. I was thinking of Westbury Manor but I think their small room is a bit too small for us. Does anyone have any other suggestions?? Thanks!

Re: Small Winter Wedding
Def check out The Woodlands. It's not too far from Westbury Manor and it's beautiful for winter weddings! It's a beautiful old mansion with fireplaces.

I hear the Fox Hollow has great winter weddings. The Riviera has a very cozy feel Milleridge Cottage George Washington Manor.

Vetro is opening up and it is a smaller venue. It is the same owner as Russo on the Bay and it will be in Howard Beach

You can call Russo's on the Bay directly for more infomation on the new smaller location that will be in Howard Beach. If you are flexible and willing to not have a vienese hour and go crazy they will work with you on price but you have to tell them that from the begining.

Re: Small Winter Wedding
we got married at westbury manor in the winter, and used the small room. i agree, for 130 people it will be too small, but i think one of the other rooms would have a lower min than usual since it's off season. we had 100 guests, and it was a bit of a tight squeeze. we had no idea we were going to have 100 people, we thought it would only be 70 people, otherwise we would have looked into a bigger room. it's worth asking what the min for one of the other rooms is. it's very pretty in the winter.

Which 'small' room are you referring to? I know they have 2 smaller rooms upstairs. What about the Garden Room downstairs (I was told it holds about 140 comfortably). That's the room I am having my reception in. Let me know if you have any questions. HTH :)

Swan Club!! Their grounds are very well manicured during the winter. I think either the Contessa Room or the Garden Room, which both overlook the grounds and the water fountains. Also, their prices are pretty reasonable.

Re: Small Winter Wedding
I recommend the Woodlands...I am getting married there in June but would have LOVED to have gotten married there more with a winter setting (but we couldn't because FH's parents need to drive up from FL and can't do so in the winter)...it is an old world feel mansion with candlelight and fireplaces - really beautiful. And the food is amazing. They only do one wedding at a time and a smaller event is fine for them.
