Smaller Venue Weddings?

Smaller Venue Weddings?

Hi, I'm new here. We're getting married in March 2006 and so I'm frantically searching for a venue which will hold a more intimate, smaller wedding. We looked at Giorgio's today and loved it but have never been to an event there. Any opinions? Any ideas on other places? We're hoping to keep the guest list at about 60 ppl.

Thanks in advance!!!

We had a smaller wedding too (80 people). The following places were on our short list:

~Snapper Inn
~Three Village Inn
~La Grange Inn
~Chateau La Mer (although their minimum was 75 people).

Instead of 'catering halls' you might also want to consider restaurants instead.

Thank you SO MUCH for our help, everyone! I'm going to check out some of the places listed to see what I can find out. Thanks again!

If you want something on the water, Danfords in Port Jefferson is beautiful. If we were having a smaller wedding that would have been our choice. There is so much to do in the area for OOT guests and they can all stay right there at Danfords.

Welcome and best of luck!

Hello and welcome. We're also having a small wedding....75 ppl. We're getting married at Majestic Gardens, which doesn't mind accomodating our small group and their grounds are SPECTACULAR. Chk out their website: www.majesticgardens.com. I had a lot of difficulty when I was looking initially bcuz most places wanted at least a 100 person guarantee and we knew we wanted to keep it small. I was beginning to worry that we'd have to have our reception at a restaurant! But Majestic Gardens came through. Hope this helps.

OMG if Majestic Gardens does small weddings, I would go there if I were you. I thought that they only do larger ones! My cousin just got married ther and it was amazing! The food was out of this world!

Check out Deseversky. We are having a smaller wedding - approx 100 people. It only has 1 wedding a day and that is the min for a saturday night. This place is amazing.

Danfords minimum *should* be low but back in 2003 when we booked they wanted us to guarantee 125 they are out of their minds. I wouldn't sign the contract guaranteeing more than 100. We had 117 attend and I can't see how we could have fit anymore.

MY FH and i went to Gorgio's for a wedding this past june and it was fabulous. We've never been there before and i was blown away at how nice it was inside and how cheap!!! I'd have to say... that everything was great! The cocktail hour had so much food and the steak there for dinner was awesome! We didn't have one complaint. Oh and one thing i loved, was everyone in the whole place got their food at the same time. It's not like if you were the table in the corner, you ate 10 minutes after everyone else. I'd definitely recommend it there!!! Good luck!

One more thing... i know a few people suggested Danfords in Port Jeff. Well i've heard some not so good things about that place. The company i work for has had their christmas party there for the past 2 years and they weren't impressed, especially with the food. Just a little FYI for you.

Re: Smaller Venue Weddings?

We have a guarantee of 75, and a lot of places had a 75 person guarantee. However, I remember that Maine Maid Inn (really cute if you like older places) and Verdi's had minimums of 50 - good luck

Just out of curiosity what are the prices of the three village inn and majestic gardens? I am also in the same boat as you with the small wedding deal. A round about figure is helpful.

Thanks.
