smiling

On average, how many times do you think you smile in one day?

We just had an assembly at school and it was mentioned that the average adult only smiles about 17 times.....

I want to know how abnormal I am when it comes to smiling - because I smile hundreds of times in a day......

17? That seems impossibly low. I smile ALOT more than that. I have no idea how many times, but I would say over 100 - which is only like 6-7 smiles per hour of awake time!

Would I be completely insane to count the number of smiles in a day?

How's THAT for random???????

Does inserting this count as one?
I don't know how often I smile each day - it might be a lot but mostly because I try to take time to read sites like overheardinnewyork.com, thesuperficial.com and this board.

And that would be OH-so-random to count how often you smile each day.

I never thought about this. I smile at people all day at work...

pathetic, really!

I am one of those people with a continuous smile on my face, unless I get really angry or sad But other than that I find myself to be a very happy person. I am going to have to check everyone out now (including myself).

what i'm wondering is who came up with this research and why? here's a smile for ya.

I think I really just don't smile a lot.

I know I smile too much!

When I was student teaching - I had a HORRIBLE 8th grade class - bunch of little deviants.
One day, I was up there, trying to impart my wisdom on them and I heard a little voice saying '10'. I ignored it and kept going. A few secconds later, I heard it again '11'.
So I looked at the kid who said it and I asked 'What are you counting?'
And the kid looked at me and said 'We're counting how many times you smile. No matter how bad we are, you still always smile at us.'

I thought it was the cutest thing ever!!!

Aww Lori that's a sweet story...at work just today the first grade teacher said she saw 2 little boys staring at her funny when they practiced their song for the show. Finally she said, what are you staring at, you should be singing & one of the boys said, 'Ms. X did you know your boobies bounce when you dance'. She didn't know what to say.

I too am one of those endless smilers...I always have a smile on my face.

I asked FH to guess how many times the avg person smiled in a day and he guessed 20! I was like 'I smile way more than that' and he says 'yeah well the average person isn't dating me'
