We just got back from E-Pics, and our photographer was like forcing me to smile but I hate to smile, I don't know why...I think I look fake or wierd or something.
The next two hours are going to be deadly because my FH is picking up the pics from the photog's house later. AHHHH
I hope they come out ok =(

Am I the only one who hates smiling in pictures?

I smile with my mouth closed. Otherwise I just don't recognize or like my pik results. You can see the many (no teeth) smiles in my album (and I wore braces so it is not like i am hiding horrible teeth-lol) Everyone else seems to think I look better with what they call 'a real smile'.
BUT - think about it - this is the perfect practice. You may love that smile and if you don't you can tell the photog so he/she gets it right on the wedding day!
i always think of e-pics as a test run!

Re: Smiling in pictures
I always think I look better not smiling, until that one pic of a natural smile gets caught . . . . they truly are better, but it's true . . . it has to be natural!!
That's why wedding pics, especially the candids, are so great, because you are REALLY smiling and REALLY happy!!!

Re: Smiling in pictures
LOL. This reminds me of the Friends episode when Monica and Chadler take their engagement photos and Chandlet can't smile! LOL. Anyway, I'm sure you look beautiful if you smile or don't smile.

Re: Smiling in pictures
This is a funny one for me. I have two smiles (I swear they feel the same!) one that I think looks pretty in picture and the other that makes me look like an awkward teenager, I hate it!!
I was thinking of showing them to the photographer and having him tell me when I am doing the UUUUGGGGLLLYY one!

I don't know, I might be a close second for that title! I take the worst pictures EVER!!!! No matter what I do, I ALWAYS look uncomfotable in pics!! I tried practicing in the mirror but I just can't seem to get it right! I know this is going to cause me major stress when it comes time to take e-pics!!

I'm sure you'll look amazing!
I don't like to smile only because I always think my face gets really round and weird looking.

Re: Smiling in pictures
i dont like forced smiles - i feel like i look like a jerk when i am smiling on purpose for a photo
we took some pictures with a photographer who needed models for her portfolio - she was great - she made us act natural and all the smiles were real smiles - in fact i couldnt stop smiling or laughing because i was having such a good time....i was still worried that i would look stupid but i ended up being surprised when i saw the pics - they are more candid shots not posed and stiff so the smiles dont look bad or fake to me - there are some pics in my album if you want to check it out - what i am trying to say is that if you are really smiling and not faking it the pictures will look better.....
