I just visited the Smithtown Landing CC and it looks good (particularly the Merrywood). The price is good too (similar to the Water Mill). I read a great review of it on this site but I'm getting some good, some lukewarm feedback from friends -- specifically that the air conditioning was out for several hours during a recent wedding reception.
Do any of you have the scoop on this place? Note that it looks like it has undergone some recent renovations.

I have been to this place about two dozens times for various functions, everything from a communion to a wedding. Since the renovations, the place is much nicer. The food is usually pretty good. I would say overall its a nice place, it doesn't 'wow' me though but that could be bc I have been there a lot.

I have to say I thought SLCC was fairly inexpensive, (as in under 100 a plate for Sat night) but the watermill is almost double that price. (I went with watermill, very very happy) but I think that SLCC is fairly nice, I think if you're on a budget it can still be beautiful! Good luck!

I would keep posting and researching on here about this...
I liked the place but there were VERY specific things that bothered me about it.
There are other places in the same price range as them too so don't settle.
If you need more help- just FM.

I worked for Lessings for many years, specifically at SLCC. Since I have been there, they have completely renovated it. It is really beautiful. You will also get some of the best pictures on the north shore at this location. Went to a wedding there last fall, and the food was really very good...
I also like the setting of the SLCC, woodsy, scenic, better than it being right on a highway. Not having it there b/c I worked there for way too long! Good Luck!

I can't say a bad thing about my wedding, and I am by no means delusional about it because it was 'my wedding'
From temperature to the food, all of my guests were happy. Almost a year later I am still getting compliments on my wedding there!

Yes, I loved your review of SLCC! (I also loved you wedding in general). The price is so good and Donna is so nice.

I know I'm a little late on this topic, but you guys were writing about a month ago, but me and FH are definitely on a budget, the people you work with are SOOO nice and accomodating and I love the Merrywood room - all decorated for a wedding it looks beautiful! :) And - in terms of hte air conditioning, i'm sure that was just a temp. problem and they renovated a lot of the place...
