Re: Smoke is coming from my ears! A little long...

We were going to do the 80's prom too but it ends at 10ish. The girls wanted to stay out all night ( I can care less not much of a drinker). So I said we can do what ever you all want after b/c I want to do the 80's prom. They made such a stink b/c its over at 10ish so I changed my mind. Now we rented a house on Fire Island and it went from %150 per person to $300. They didn't like my first choice so to bad so sad! Do what you want. It is your day and you should do what you want. I changed my choice (and did get a better one out of it) but do what you want. How about just going out and doing a day with your daughter and the hell with the others!

Uh Yeah it's supposed to be YOUR night!!! What the F??? You are totally right about this - It sounds like you have MY friends in your wedding party!!! Not fair to you...How about not asking them...and just Telling them - and I wouldn't hesitate to mention the $$ you spent on theirs if need be.....Good luck and if you want, we can have a bachelorette party for you!!!

I totally understand being upset. Yes it is your day and your b-party. We do have to put it in perspective. Obviously if the girls are having their moms pay for some stuff they then are financially strapped to begin with. I don't thing the $125 for the night is unreasonable but you have to consider what's going on in other's lives at this time. Money is an extremely sensative issue. It *****..there's not much you can do about it.

If these girls are your best friends and are vey close to you..then don't worry about 'WHAT' you do that night!! It's about being with these girls who have been there for you through thick and thin and seen your ups and downs.. they are there to celebrate you that night..no matter what it is. The best B-party I went to was one that I held in my house..just close friends..we went to dinner and then had a sleep over talking about all the crazy things we did and how we became who we are today. that's what it's about. So I say.. try to compromise with the 'what' and remember it's the 'who' that really matters that night!!

Good Luck!!

People are just selfish. I had a discussion with FH's BM yesterday which I don't even want to get into but nobody is considerate of us, they all s-u-c-k. I would just say, this is what I want to do and whoever wants to go, go. that's all, just my opinion.

you have every right to be upset. You're not a bridezilla at all! These girls need to wake up and think back to when they were brides!

Hey Hall Twin! I'm getting married there 2 weeks before you!

Sorry u r going through this. I would definitely think that spas are more expensive than the 80's prom-----1 facial will cost $75 (at least!). It's tough when people live out of state. Mine all do too and I doubt that any of them will make it to my shower, much less my b-party (if there even is one).

What about looking into Atlantic City? The prices for some of the hotels are much less. (You won't be staying at the Tropicana, but maybe some corny motel a block or two away----I've done it and always had a great time!). OR another idea, if more than 1 of you BM's are from NC or down south, a weekend in Ocean City Maryland is cheap and super fun.

I completely understanf why u r fuming. I would be too! U R not being a bridezilla at all.

Could not have said it better. I completely understand where you are coming from, I do - but just remember that just because some of the girls' moms are buying their dresses / travel, that doesn't necessarily mean they have extra money to spend on a b-party. They might be going through things you don't even know about. I didn't even know about my sister's money worries until yesterday!! So try to come up with something fun that's not that expensive so that no one will be bitter, upset, etc. If it's really important to you - can you chip in a bit of $$ to do what you want??? Mohegan shouldn't be terrible if you all share one room, or two at the most?? Hope it all works out. Take a look into the east end, you should be able to get a decent hotel room out there and there's tons to do.

Im really surprised at all these responses!!
Yes we are the brides but our weddings aren't the only thing going on in their lives. Back when the others got married everyone was probably in different stages of their lives personally and financially. Im one of the last girls in my group to get married and I know that back then..we were all capable of doing the all night big $$ things.

I don't know.. Im a little disappointed at these responses.. If it matters see my response above.

You have every right to be upset. Especially since you told them upfront that this was what you wanted to do, that's the reason you ask people to be in your wedding party and give them the opportunity to say no, if money is tight.

Hopefully everything works out and you have a blast at MOHEGAN SUN

I couldn't have said it better your closest friends and family are by your side because they want to be there for you. Each person in your bridal party is going through things in their lives mind you we are also in a recession and its hard for people to go out and spend. Maybe yall can have drinks at the house and go to the club or even try stripper pole classes there are things that can be done right in your back yard just do research and see what exciting you can do here.

No, they are not 'strapped for cash' they are spoiled by their mother...that's what I'm saying. They have the money, they just dont want to spend it. All but one of these girls are my cousins. I know the money situations all of them are going though...

I cant do Ocean City for personal reasone. One of my BM's is acutally in MD. But I used to live near Ocean City with my Ex...and there are too many reasons I dont want to go back. :) Atlantic City will cost more or as much, and apprently I'm the only one who wants to gamble...so I think I'm going to have my own party at MoSun a different time. I'll invite all of you girls!

Re: Smoke is coming from my ears! A little long...

I dont think I'm being selfish. Only 2 of them are married, and the others are all single girls who go out and party on a regular basis...not like they are staying home on the weekends becuase they are strapped. I also offered to pay for myself, but was told that was out of the quesiton. So, it's not like I havent tried to work with everyone...I would bend over backwards for any of them if this were there night (I flew back and forth for engagement parties, b-parties, weddings, etc and never squaked a bit) It's funny how you find out how much your friends care about you, and how some of them dont. Thanks for telling me I'm not being selfish!

I don't think you are being selfish either..I just hope people realize why they picked these grils to be in your bparty. Realize the relationships..if they are good ones..means more than all of this wedding planning stuff. No matter what.. if you are with the girls you love...you'll have a great time.

Yes and no. I want this to be something out of the ordinary...not the same thing we always do when we get together. MOST of these girls are my family, and I'm lucky enought to see them often and get together. This is supposed to be 'all about me', and it just hurts me that they are trying to make it about them, and what they want.
