Re: So....
How about having both in the sense of ... having your dad walk you for halfway and then your uncle the rest or vice versa? A friend of mine told me someone she went to see get married did this and we both cried when she told us the story!

Re: So....
I was thinking having both as well if not definitely have your uncle walk you down the aisle and have your father do something else for the wedding

Re: So....
Really sorry your going through this but I would have my uncle do it (if you do not want both). I agree with the others he (uncle) is the one that raised you.
Also, agree with the post about the girl's half sister having her stepdad walk her. It is your wedding and everyone should respect your wishes

Re: So....
Your uncle should walk you down , but you should dance with you father. Maybe you can tell your father that you want to dance with him- but you have to honor your uncle for all he has done for you, so he is going to walk you down the aisle.

Re: So....
I would ask your uncle. I'm sure your dad would understand and probably feels great that he was even invited. Especially if the two of you were kinda estranged. If your dad gets upset then he gets upset and he'll just have to deal with it. I know that sounds kinda mean but I'm going through a somewhat similar situation and you gotta do what feels right for you

Re: So....
I kinda have the same dilemma my father and I do not have the best relationship. I didn't really have the best parents and they both really have a lot of issues. I rarely speak to my father and when I do he always has something critical to say to me. I always wanted to have some sort of a relationship with him but now I'm at the point where I don't care anymore. My sister asked my father to walk her down the aisle and he was a complete no show. To me that was the last straw, my uncle, who was performing the ceremony had to do it and then go back and marry them! For this reason I decided I did not want my father to do it. I'm going to walk down the aisle with the only male who was in my life consistently before fh my son. He is the only person who has the right to give me away in my opinion
So my advice is to go with your uncle the person who you think should really do it. Its not about your father its about you. Sorry about the long response
