I need a final count on who is doing hair and makeup and I emailed all the girls today. So my cousin who is a BM says the following:
Okay...honestly I can't afford to pay for my hair and make up if hair is going to be 85. I definitely want my make up done. But if I have to I will go to my cousin for my hair I'm sorry but being a college student I can't afford both! I hope you understand
OK HELLO IM GOING TO SCHOOL, PAYING $30,000 for you to eat and drink on my dime and you cant spend $$$$ on hair? THen you want me to spend $$$$ on a limo for your 21st bday party? which is the same amount of money for me and Fh?
For her sisters wedding I spent over $500 between the dress and makeup which she got a good deal on since it was her dad's cousin sorry if my girl needs to make $ to cover her not being in the salon all day.
ok vent over I guess I am being a bridezilla who wants to get ready with all my girls together and not have to worry where people are and if they are going to be late. Im on a tight schedule since we have to travel like 20 mins to the church.

No one wants to make you feel bad!
You should vent. And if anything vent here so you can get it out before you speak with your BMs! I think the best aspect of the board is the ability to get a feel for others people opions/reactions. Sometimes we take things personally (i.e. people not getting their hair done) so we're not sure if we're justified in our feelings or overwhelmed by the process.
Now, that you know how others feel about the situation perhaps you have a different outlook on how you will dicuss the issue with your BM.

my sister was in the same boat last july for her wedding. she wanted all of us girls to get ready together (and there were 10 of us!) but she ran into problems like this one doesnt wanna pay for makeup, or this one will only go to her hair person and so on. so it ended up the only people getting ready at my parents us was the bride, me and my other sister and our mom and i can honestly say it was much more relaxing. everyone showed up with enough time to relax and chill out before the photographer got there and there was no scrambling to get ready in a cramped space with loads of bridesmaids. it worked out so nice that im doing the same thing and just telling my girls be at my house completely ready at this time for a little

Im sorry love! I know its frustrating but try not to let it get you all stressed out. Maybe try talking to her about how you really wanted everyone together getting ready and stuff and that pics will be taken there. If she still wont do her hair there tell her she needs to be at the hotel EARLY because the schedule is very tight and you can't be late leaving to get to the church.

Whatever I guess I'm such a bad person that I want everyone to use the same people. I haven't asked for anything from mt girls whatever I wanted to vent but now I feel even worse thanks alor.
Dont feel bad but its bound to happen its like bridesmaids law!! Thats why a lot of brides say u know what, hair and makeup its ur gift, I want everyones hair to look a certain way and i want it done at my house end of story.... but then when u start asking them to pay its like, more of an option especially when ur getting a head count, it gave her a choice

I feel you. I have a BM that is in college and cant afford it easy. I understand totally though and just let it go. Cant compare our situation to everyone elses.

Now my fsil doesn't want make up and my cousin who I did both hair and make up for hers saays money is tight. I'm just over the wedding I wish I eloped. Its not like my wedding is a surpise to anyone I've been engaged 2 years and 2 months. I haven't asked anything from them. I even told my sister forget my bparty since everyone seems to be broke coviently before the wedding but my two cousins have enough money for her 21st bday on saturday to take a limo and drink this is why I'm so fustrated. I wish I could afford hair and makeup for these girls but I'm paying $12,000 in the next 4 weeks out of my pocket. Just wished I knew about this months ago I could have booked a diffrent artist just for myself.

Understandable but things come up and you asked for a head count because it was an option, right? So they had the choice of wether or not they wanted to get it done. I completly understand your point sometimes people just have other priorities.
I definitely see both sides as far as the $$ thing goes... but i agree with this... if it was optional then i dont see the point in getting mad...

When people are that young and don't realize how much really goes into a Wedding they tend to be careless and underestimate. I know because I was one of those girls! Not that it's a good excuse but try and understand and maybe ask her to ask her parents for help?

Notveryone is going to do for you as you have done for them. It sucks but that's how things are but remember its your day say I don't care what you do just have your hair and make up done and be at my house by this time no excuses. **** everyone this is YOUR day
