So behind on planning

So behind on planning

So we haven't booked anything yet. Can't seem to get in gear. I know the major thing holding me back is that our finances are all over the place. FH left his job in the mortgage industry about a month after proposing and my job (also in mortgages) is a little shaky at the moment. So it's hard to plan when we're worried about money!

But I also feel we can't decide what we want to do. we have gone to several RH's and even went for a tasting and really like Timber Pont. But lately we keep talking about a destination wedding. There is something appealing about not doing the whole big wedding and having a three day vaca with our families. But i haven't even looked into if this is a financial possiblity. AHHHH

well you are not behind on planning....it has been said before, and is no surprise...this site makes you feel like 1.5 years before your wedding you must be done with everything...if you do choose Timper Point (which I did)...i doubt that they will be booked for the entire 09--its not that popular of a RH...and if you want a destination wedding, you can start that a year before, most places (i think jenny, mrsfazz, said Disney would even talk to her until 1 year before)--so please dont stress, you have bigger issues then one day--if worse comes to worse, you get married at town hall and host a dinner party for family and friends.

Yes..you're not far behind at all. Once one thing get booked the next will soon follow and everything will slowly come into play. Believe me, our finaces aren't the greatest either, specially since FH loooves to spend! ... lol... but I know in the long run it will def. all come together. Just try to keep your sanity and try not to stress too much about it! ...

First let me say thats its totally ok to not be in gear at the moment. You have good reason. As for destination weddings... I LOVE THEM! Even if you ended up having 60 people you can d that for like 10 g there. Its really great. If you have a smaller amount of people then even less. You should look into the Bahamas. they have alot of sites for this. Good Luck!

Don't feel behind at all I'm getting married in May and I'll I've booked so far is the RH. I say do whatever makes you happy....I would have done the destination wedding but my dad refuses to fly making that impossible. I'm really happy to be having a wedding but the expenses are a lot to handle.

Don't feel bad. We planned our wedding in 7 months. I got engaged at the end of November and did no planning until early February and are getting married the following October. It's possible but you have to be ultra efficient!

I agree...you can make yourself crazy looking at what everyone on here has done. You will get it all done. At least I'm trying to convince myself of that. Going to push next week to bang a bunch of stuff out.

you have plenty of time! You could also check cruises, they offer weeding packages that are pretty cheap and your whole family enjoys the cruise with you.

You have tons of time- I only started doing as much as I did because I have to go back to school in September so I wanted the summer to get some stuff done.

Don't worry- you will be fine!

Once you make a decision, then book the first vendor; everything else will fall into place. Don't worry about being behind.
