Fox hollow is beautiful! and its a scotto, so you won't have to worry about the food!! It will be awesome!! Fox hollow was my second choice, only reason i didn't go with it, was because we would have gotten the room downstairs (the briar fox) , and it seemed to small, and the dance floor was alittle small

I looked at;

Crest Hollow - sisters wedding 9 years ago was great, friends last year sucked - just wanted to check it out

Woodbury country club - just not my style, too scattered with the ceremony and 3 levels and lots of stairs

North Ritz - LOVED!!! but too $$

so now the only one left (but i did like it a lot) is
Fox hollow

i heard great things, and then some not so great things

Well if fox hollow is the style you like and love how its set up then def give it alot of consideration. I have heard alot of great things about it...Look at the negatives they say about it and if you even care about that.

At first i was upset when people kept saying things about JT...I would read all these things and i guess just any negativity got me annoyed...But then i looked at what the complaint was and it didn't bother me...It was about the fact that there is more than one wedding there at a time...For me this is not a problem, oh well...I will be too busy with my own party there to really bother with what else is going on.

I wanted to check out glen island harbour after JT, i think they have only one wedding at a time...But FH and I loved JT, they treated us sooo great and felt very comfortable...Fh also didn't want it in westchester lol...dont second guess yourself bc of others opinions

Are they way above what you are willing to pay or not by much...I would try and talk to them and see if you can bring down the price

about 150-175...Honestly Thats the first negative thing i've heard about their food. I've heard great things about the scotto brothers and family! I've also heard many good things about fox hollow..no negative things until this!

Well i would just go for a food tasting then, and determine that yourself...I have seen everyone saying how one place has amazing food and then someone will come and say eh i dont like it...Same thing with restaurants, you will have a bunch of people who love it and others who hate it...See for yourself

Yeah dont let it get you down...People will always have negative things to say, but its your wedding and its your opinion and taste that matter.

well if you think the food is good then trust your judgement that your guests will agree...Ill put it to you like this, no matter where you have it, its very likely someone wont like it...Not even that its bad, people are just different...FH hates alot of garlic and will think something is bad if it has too much, I LOOOVE garlic and the more of it the better lol

Re: so confused

Don't let other comments (especially about food) get to you too much. FH and I brought some of our family members to a tasting on Saturday and there were certain dishes that I absolutely love that they really didn't like, and they liked some of the food that I didn't really care for. I honestly thought everyone would have the same opinion. It's all a matter of personal taste. FH and I think the best way to make everyone happy is to just make certain we have enough variety in our CH and entree choices that every guest can find at least one thing they like (hopefully more).

Where are you going to look L?

Re: so confused

me and my mom did all the legwork for the halls and we had our top choices, the ones we liked, and pros and cons of each.....after we looked at ALL the halls we were going to look at, we took my FH, dad, and FH's parents to see all of them....from there it quickly narrowed itself down to one hall

It was very overwhelming and I was nervous that if i heard anything negative i might be making the wrong choice, but then I think of it this way. There are places I have been others have raved about but I wasn't crazy for and vice versa. No one can ever please everyone and you have to do what makes you happy and where you think the majority of your guests will enjoy themselves. From there you hope it will be everyone, and don't worry, because looking back will do no good.

So my advice is do your homework and realize no hall can please every customer, but hope they have done everything they can do make a negative situation right. If you feel comfortable and the positives outweigh the negatives then you may have found a match. I know for me my parents opinion was REALLY important and became the deciding factor for me. So trust those that you love and it will work out.

Re: so confused

Every place is going to have pros and cons. The reason I chose Fox Hollow is because I had an idea of what I wanted and how I wanted things to look. Oct. is part of fox hollows peak season so I could probably have recieved a better price else where but I was happy. Most places want to serve good food and great service and they will all look nice. It's about what style you want. At least you narrowed it down to one. Now as you visit each place you can decide do I like this better?
