i just read some of the reviews from former brides and one girl wrote in about people calling venues and vendors and pretending to be other people and cancelling because they want them for that date or just jealousy??? i cannot really believe this is true - PLEASE tell me she is WRONG!!!!

i actually heard about this when i first started on liw and i used to have all my vendors and info on my profile and i erased everything that day and now when somone wants advice i might give it on the post of or fm them ....ridiculous right?

I'm not sure it's really happened, but I put nothing past a female who is determined to get what she wants. A lot of the ladies on here have used ways of keeping their information private. For instance having the vendor only talk to you and your FH. Having a password some vendors do this. Or not posting their hall/limo information.
Dont worry to much about this just take the steps youd do with anything youd want to keep safe.

i am so disgusted, i cannot believe that! i thought everyone was so nice and genuinely helping each other - that is terrible that people would be like that!!!

I heard about this a couple of years ago when I joined LIW too... People started putting up 'booked' instead of their actual vendor name. If I remember correctly in one particular incident, the vendor hung up with the person who was calling and called the real bride to verify and that bride reported it to us so that we were aware. At least the vendor was smart enough to question the person on the phone! Just make sure you don't use your last name in anything that is posted. If you're careful, I'm sure it's not going to happen.

i guess i still just like to believe that people ar good and it is hard for me to comprehend some things that are just unfathomable - thanks for responding though

You are in group that is becoming extinct. You are a person who can still see good in people. Your attributes are what make you, you. I wasnt trying to be harsh, just now a days you cant really be surprised to the depths people will go, even to sabatoge a wedding to get that person's wedding day or just to be really vindicitive.

Im sure this wont happen to you and so far no other ladies on the 07 boards have said it happned to them, so dont worry yourself too hard or not stop by the boards to chat/joke/or just vent!

Personally I think its crap. My vendors would never cancel without written consent. And I have contracts that state that. They all know that I gave them money and a call would not fix that.

a few months back on the news there was a woman who didnt have a wedding cake because someone called up her baker and told them to cancel the cake. how sick is that!???

i understand about the contracts and the written consent. i was just upset to think that people would actually try to do those things!!!
