So done with Macy's . . .

Original post by dannisayz

If any of you ladies bought your gowns there, good luck dealing with them. I was happy up until my 2nd fitting yesterday. Now I'm just fed up. They promised to add straps to my dress with the beading to match what was on the gown. It wasn't done. It looked like two Ace Bandages were draped over my shoulders.

They were being added to cover my tattoo on my back (Grandma is a bit insane). They assured me back in December that it was not a problem and it would never look like an add on. I'm basically having a black tie wedding and my dress looked like I payed 25cents for it.

So, today I called and told them to take them off. They were not what I wanted and I'm not happy. I had to go with my MOH to get hair extensions to put in my hair to cover the tattoo. This is what I should of done in the first place. It cost me a whole $80 for them instead of $400+ for the extra material and 'work' they did to my gown.

I've had it. :steamblowingoutearsicon:

I am so sorrry you are going through this. They have been giving my girls a hard time too with there BM dresses. And last saturday I had to speak with the manager about a few things. 1 of my BM ordered her dress over the phone and the girl told her to order a size 28!!!! she was a 22 at the time and now lost weight and is a 18. so the dress is 10 sizes to big!!! and the seamstress where she lives told ehr it's gonna look horrible once she starts working on it. And when she called macys to give her measurements she told them she wanted a size 20 or 22. and they insisted on the 28. even thought she didn't want it. So now she is stuck with this dress. and not sure how it will look. So macys says that with her measurements she was bigger then a 28. so I checked them while I was there and the measurements she gave were for a size 20!!! they Fked up. But wanted to make it look like it was her fault and they won't replace the dress! And my Cousins dress they made to tight on her and then tried to say she grew in 2 months. So I had them remeasure her and she didn't grow!!! And they wanted to charge me extra money to take the dress out again. So after she measured her I refused to pay the extra and the manager said we didn't have to. I hate that store. and I cna't wait for all of the girls to pick up there dresses and everything to be done with,

You can also have your makeup artist cover the tattoo...(Im sure you know this and I am stating the obvious in an effort to make you feel better

Thanks. We tried. It still shows. It's mostly dark colors.

One of my BMs has several tattoos and when she got married she covered them with makeup. I don't remember the name off-hand, but she went to this little shop downtown that sells theatrical makeup. From what I remember it covered them pretty well. The only thing was, I think she had to watch that it didn't wipe off on her dress. I'll ask her again if it happened much. If you're interested, let me know and I'll ask her the name again.

I had similar problems with my BM too. For all of them, they ordered sizes too big so they could charge them astronomical fees with the seamstress. I complained about that to Macy's, but the bridal salon only rents space from them; it's not Macy's. So their only solution was to give my girls Macy's$$$.
