FH spoke to the contractor yesterday and he's starting on Tuesday He's going to be installing a new front and storm door, new windows, siding, gutters, etc. and making holes for the new ACs we bought (we currently have them in the windows, but since we're getting new windows, we want them to be installed in the walls).
The guy who's making our new kitchen is supposed to start next Saturday!
This is all so exciting. I can't wait to see the end result

Lisa: That's exactly what I was telling FH yesterday. Our house has the original windows You can feel the wind coming in thru the windows (and thus, the heat also escapes ) so we can't wait to get the new windows and door!

I start my siding and windows contract next month and can't wait for the new windows. I feel like with all the wind - the old ones are going to blow right in! I was going to get wicker with white capping but at the last minute switched to clay with white capping. What kind of siding are you doing? I am doing shakes on the front and horzontal on the sides and back.
Definitely show us those before and afters!

Thanks girls!! Fh has finished all the demolition in the kitchen and we're painting it today to get it ready for the cabinet and counter guy.
Niecey: That's so funny! We were going to go with Clay and last minute changed to Wicker. We saw Clay on a few houses that our contractor did and it looks amazing!!! You made a great choice. We're just getting the horizontal siding. Good Luck to you and congrats! I will definietly post pics! Please post pics yours too!

The contractor started today on the windows. I'm really excited but we're already having issues (not with the contractor). Like my grandparent's car that's parked in the driveway won't start and they need to move it to bring the windows in I'm so glad FH is going in late to work and is handling this BS.
And the cabinet/counter person has told us that the cabinets are not in yet, so he doesn't know if he'll be able to get the kitchen done this Saturday
