So - I have to vent... My FH is a HUGH football fanatic - and to an extent so am I... but lately it's gotten out of hand - he's joined THREE fantasy football leagues - two of which were over $100 to join (this he didn't tell me until he said he needed two checks for the amount on the day of the 'draft' ) and recently purchased Madden '08... I normally don't have a problem with the Madden game - but now that he's in these 'leagues' practically ALL of his time is spent on the computer or on the phone with his draft buddies figuring out the next 'strategic' move in his league... Yes, I spend an exorbitant amount of time on my computer - usually work related... but when he's home, I try to make it a point to NOT ignore him... but for him it doesn't matter... he'll play Madden for hours on end - but when I mention that it's a beautiful day out - let's go outside, take the dogs out, etc... he either ignores me, continues to play or gets bent out of shape telling me all I do is complain about him playing video games... I never really cared in the past - since I was going thru the tenure process at my school - I had little time away from the computer - and he understood - so he played video games... but now - I have tenure - a LOT less stress is there and much less time on the computer on my end... but he is still the same. I've tried talking to him about it - but he becomes SO defensive and accusatory... We are in financial lock down b/c of this wedding - so we are trying to do as much as possible that doesn't cost money - but he still does what he wants - financially (while EVERY last cent of mine is put toward the f'ing wedding)... but I'm the P.I.T.A. b/c I am getting tired of seeing the back of his head...
Ladies I don't know what to do anymore... I am SO fed up with this cr@P... I'm ready to toss that f'ing xbox console out the f'ing window...

You are definitly NOT ALONE !!!!!!! I used to not mind football / baseball but since fantasy leagues, I hate them all!!!! FH switches back and forth every week working days and nights. He's switching with someone on Tuesdsy so he can go to his 3rd football fantasy draft. Wednesday is my birthday. You think he's switching to take me out to dinner? My parents are taking me out for my bday dinner! It's a man thinbg to do it and a women thing to go nuts over it. Hang in there.

Now, I must make a confession...I, too, have a fantasy football team ...yes, I am on a league with my work friends!
I also am addicted to LIW and webkins too And you can't speak to me when the Mets are on!
Definitely, I understand why you would be angry since you are pinching pennies while he is splurging on games, teams, etc. I am sure you would be less annoyed if he wasn't spending a lot of money on these things when you have a wedding to pay for. Want to make a point? Come home with shopping bags (even if you get empty shopping bags and fill them with tissue...it will be enough to get his attention and give him a coronary! Then point out to him how he reacted when he believed you spent a load on nothing and explain nicely that you feel the same when he does!
However, before you can confront him about all this wasted time, please be sure that you don't have anything in this realm that he can pick on (my confessions are examples of how I take up a lot of time and basically ignore FH) Not that you are wrong, please don't think that. Just, if you want to win this, make sure you are not guilty of the same thing you are annoyed at him for (ex. Since I spend hours on LIW, I can't yell at FH for spending hours watching television).
Why don't you talk to him and come up with a plan? You have no problem with him doing what he does (you can play on LIW with us!) as long as he gives you some 'us' time! That is what FH and I do! This way, we don't get annoyed when we are oblivious to each other later!

Three TV's in the living room, and a laptop. He runs his fantasy league which costs 500 a spot. He is in a few leagues online and he runs pools every Sunday. And has been playing Madden since he got it (The day it came out!) and has the new Tiger woods waiting in the bullpen when he is ready.
But you know what. I dont care. If that is the worst he does then so be it. It is 16 weeks of the year. He likes other sports but is not as fanatic.
If you feel he is spending money where he shouldnt, just give him one of the bills or the amount of money you think you need and tell him to come up with it.
As far as spending time, forget it on Sundays! I'll see you all at the mall! But he should make time some of the other days.

unfortunately i still think i have everyone beat lol bc on top of being in about 4-5 fantasy leagues he also plays on about 4 teams

LOL WHOA I know how u feel....do what I do!! DO NOT COOK DO NOT SPEAK Totally ignore and be happy about it. They feel the lack of attention and end up straightening up!
My FH is a sweetheart but he annoys me at times when I wanna talk about the wedding and he's like 'BABE I GOTTA STUDY' but when I dont care about what goes on in school n stuff he gets upset and asks me to bare with him! OH PLEASE! lol

my FH is in 3 football fantasy teams...and actually put madden 08 on hold a month before it came out to make sure he got it the day it came out..... he is a HUGE football or all sport guy and starting next weekend sundays are ALL DAY FOOTBALL DAYS (i got him to go to hersey park this weekend because i know football starts)
but i actually like that he does this it is better then him being in a bar every weekend doing whatever
threre are definitly worst things he could be doing....

omg .. i think we have the same FH!!! LoL.. except since it's still baseball season so he's playing the baseball game instead of madden.. ( which he doesn't play as much cause i beat his @$$ at it too many times..lmaooo)
