in Florida...The bride and groom stole our first dance song!!!! I am upset!!! I told the bride months ago what our song was and they used it Now everyone is going to think we are copying them...Sorry, I am having a meltdown moment and I needed to vent!!

It was the song 'Heaven' that was remade by DJ Sammy...We loved that song and FH said he thought it was shady that they would do that 6 weeks before our wedding when they knew it was our song.

Hang in there. Sometimes it's VERY difficult when there are 2 weddings close together. I was engaged for 2 years. Dh's cousin proposed to his GF 3 months before our wedding. They decided to get married 5 months after us.
I already had EVERYTHING planned and all of a sudden I kept hearing 'I wanted to do that' 'we were planning on using that'...
just hang in there! If this is only a friend and not a family member, you probably won't have a lot of the same guests.

honestly...that wouldnt bother me I dont think many will even notice or think that you and FH stole the other couples song...I cant remember the first song to the 4 weddings I went to over the summer and 2 of them were one week apart from each other...

Grrrrrrr, that's really annoying? Think about how similar the guest list will be and then think about whether you actually care that those people have heard the song before (they probably won't even remember it).

honestly, no one is going to remember except you! i was just at johnny&maur's wedding (my best friend) 2 weeks ago and i have NO IDEA what her song was. and i was paying attention to everything.
and that's a very popular wedding song. it's been used for the past 2-3 years that it's been out so it's not an original idea to begin with.
use the song and don't worry about it. no one will realize, and if they do, so what??

Sorry to hear that! Use the song, esp if the guest lists are different, and if anyone has the nerve to say anything to you tell them that you choose it first and can't help that others feel the need to copy (esp if the bride who stole it makes the comment!!)
