My family is in GA. So my sister ordered her dress and my neices (FG) dress from a place in Atlanta. The genius that measured my neice only measured her chest and waist, she's very petite, so according to her measurements she was a size 2 dress. She didn't take into account her length. She's 6 years old and although she is very petitie, she is still average height for her age. SO of cours when the dress comes in - it's up to her ankles and it's supposed to be a floor length dress! The place is saying that the only thing they could do is add 3 inches of material to the bottom to make up for it!! She's also telling me that if they ordered a new one, it wouldn't get here in time, even if they rushed it!! I think she's BSing me, but how am I going to argue w/ that?
Has anyone had material added to the bottom of a dress?? How does it look? Wouldn't there be a seam going around the dress?? I'm so Pi$$ed off right now!!

hey thats my FG dress also. . . . i was told that when we ordered it that we had to add lenght cause it couldnt be done after. . . since its the shops fault have them re-order it. . . I have 2 flower girls from florida so i had it rushed shipped and we got it in 2 weeks. . .

Yeah, there would be a seam. I would call the store & say that since it was their mistake they should order you a new dress. And that you will not be happy with added material at the bottom. Then maybe go to david's & pick out a back-up in case it's late.

If it was typical A line I would say add a color but yes there will be a seam. I would call Phyllis at Bridal Elegance and see if she can do a rush order with measurments from your sis. I bet the store is saying that because they don't want to eat the dress!!! I would tell them to reorder and rush it, it is their fault and they should totally fix it.

how about adding a layer of tulle underneath to accomodate the length instead of more material...its a very cute look on a dress. esp. for a young girl.

Where did you order it from?
I did tell them that they should order a new dress but they are telling me they wouldn't get it in time, which I'm sure is a lie.
