So Fresh and So Clean Updated w PICS!!!!
I had my shower yesterday!!!!
My bridal party went above and beyond for my shower!! FH actually let the surprise slip about the date about a month ago, and I was so upset. My sister, MOH, knew that I knew and was upset because the only thing I requested was a surprise, and she actually pulled it off!!
My mom 'planted' a direction card to a fire dept hall in my kitchen with chicken scratch about the time and the date written on it 4/4 and a name of a caterer and a note saying 'make sure you get wine for Kris' I cried my eyes out thinking now I know where and when and FH tried so hard not to laugh. The next day we get in the mail a 'flyer' for a fundraiser at the fire dept hall and I was like umm yea ok now I know how they are getting me there but I kept my mouth shut. FH was the only one I told that I found the direction card to the fire dept hall.
So yesterday my sister called me up and said, 'Do you want to go to the restaurant and get prices from the owner for the rehearsal dinner?' She was hungry and so was I so we figured we would get lunch too. The woman at the restaurant played along and even asked about the date, how many people, took out a menu and her date book and was like ok, let me show you the room. They open the curtains and there are all my guests! I was definitely surprised because my hair was still sorta wet and I didnt have the good makeup on. I was thinking my shower was later on at the fire dept hall so I didnt get all dolled up. BTW I didnt even put on my shower dress. It stayed in the car. I was to wrapped up in talking to people and I didnt want to miss a moment of the shower.
Now for the review...
Restaurant: Antoinette's in Bellmore
Food was amazing and so was the cake (they make it themselves) Everyone was raving about the food! Oh yes and the punch was awesome too!
The favor was purple Joy Mangano hangers (which are my favorite and I will only use them!) Everything was a shade of purple (my fav color and my theme). They made little chocolate bar wrappers and life saver wrappers, which one of my BM's moms did and is so freakin talented. She has so many great party ideas its amazing. She always throws some great themed parties so I was honored that she offered to help with the shower!
Corsage: Flower Barn
My mom and sis went there because that is where we are getting our flowers for the wedding and figured they could get something that matched my flowers. Michael pulled out my order and said well she has calla lillies so lets make it with that! It was so pretty and cute that I continued to wear it all night long at my shower after party. lol
FH gets a A+ infinity!!
He showed up along with my brother and father to tote all my gifts home, and he walked into the room full of women with roses!! The whole room did a collective AAAAWWWW. I love him so much and always does small things like that to surprise me .
Band: Some band playing for the other party in the other room, dont know their name but they were fabulous! There was a 50th anniversary going on in the other room and it was just loud enough to be background music for my shower! They played alot of oldies which was good. Thank God it wasnt a sweet sixteen and a band playing loud Jonas Brothers or something. I mean how many showers have you gone to with a live band?? LOL Wish I knew their name cause I would give them a shout out!
