So frustrating!!!
I don't think I've been an unreasonable bridezilla beast at all really during this whole planning process to my girls...I really had no requests or demands except the following, which I don't think were out of line at all. 1. Don't look like a sluuuuut i.e. keep the girls inside your dress 2. please try not to wear your hair the same exact way as me and 3. please wear flats because lets face it, FH isn't tall.
My aunt is really starting to piss me off, because she is insistent that my 5'9' cousin wear shoes with a heel, completely disregarding my request. When I said I would really rather her not, and also it would be more comfortable to wear flats, she said no, and asked what shoes I was wearing. I said that I was wearing tiny shoes just for the ceremony, and then slippers for the rest of the night. Her response was 'Oh, well if you get to wear shoes, then she can too.' Um...I'm the bride! And I asked nicely, and gave my reasoning behind it too, it wasn't just a blanket statement demand.
She pulled the same routine when it was my sister's wedding too, making it more about my cousin than the bride. And now it's really starting to piss me off, because one of my BMs is really involved in planning my bachelorette party, and her current plan is to go in to the city to Lips only, then come home, because she wants to do something to accommodate all the BMs, and my cousin is the only 'minor' in terms of being able to at least gain entry to some places because she's 17 (I also have a 19 and 20 year old, but they can at least get in to Webster Hall or something after 80's prom). But now she doesn't want to plan even the prom too, because we have to revolve the whole night around my 17 year old cousin??? Not for nothing...but no lol. She didn't go to my sister's bparty, because obviously she was only like 15 at the time, so why does my party need to revolve around it? And the part that's the saddest is that she doesn't care in either direction...she could give two less, but it's her mother that's making the big deal over everything like the hair and the shoes.
AHHH. Vent over. My sister is going to try to do damage control at least with the bparty with my other friend, but I really think I'm just going to find out my cousin's shoe size, buy her a pair, and show up at the front door and be like here's a present!
And since I'm sure this will be asked, no, she does not have a medical condition that would prohibit her from wearing ballet flats or a specific style of shoe. This is solely just her mother trying to make it about her.
