So get this...

While at precana this weekend we met this couple and we started talking about our weddings... their wedding was in the beginning of September... THIS SEPTEMBER

AND

they have not booked a photographer yet!!

I would be so worried...
Now I know I have been slow at booking my vendors but a month before the wedding and no photographer??? And not one idea as to who they would use?? I was just curious...how many of you would wait this long?!

UM NEVER - if it was a different vendor - maybe, but the photographer was the one of the first things i wanted booked!

Not me.. thats for sure!!

Most of my major vendors were booked way before my one year mark!

Wow, that's gutsy!! I couldn't wait that long, it's important to get photography booked early!!

...and I'm nervous b/c I have only 10 months and I don't have a photographer yet! I guess I'm not the only one

I know... and they weren't worried at all!! So I asked her when she got engaged and she said late 2003....I wanted to shake her and be like what have you been doing this whole time!!!

that funny, b/c when we booked our photo/video last year, we got to talking about how long before the wedding couples book that part. he told us he had a girl come to him 2 weeks before the wedding!! 2 weeks!! thats crazy. i know there are certain things you can book at least 6-8 months before the wedding, but i would never wait until a month before my wedding to book a major vendor

OMG!!! Our photographer was the first vendor we booked right after the hall (which was THE first vendor we booked!) YIKES!!

i am narotic. i have all of my vendors booked except limos and i still have a year. pictures are so important. it was my first vendor after my hall.

Photographer was the first thing we got done after our hall!!

Although I have seen people put together weddings in 7 months and less.

If it was a less popular month like Jan-Mar then it might be understandable. But Sept. is so popular!! They are going to have a really hard time finding someone. I could not wait that long, it would stress me out WAYYY too much! I like having everything done way ahead of time so I don't have to think about it!!

Sounds like it is a money issue with her.
Why would anyone wait that long. She may be waiting last minute to get someone with a good deal or maybe embarassed to say she was not having one and maybe a friend is taking the pictures for them.

Me-I think these folks are nuts. If they don't hurry up they are going to be stuck with aunt Lulu with her Polaroid camera...

I've seen people work it before. You actually end up with a much better deal when you book closer to the date.

I will only have been engaged ten months when we get married. We had plenty of time and got everyone we wanted as vendors. Then again, vendors JUMP at the opportunity to do winter weddings which arent as popular. Better than doing nothing that day I suppose.
