So heated... I need to vent....

UPDATE: thanks girls! im not as mad as i was... it is the fact that he lied repeatedly that bothers me... what actually happened, i can forgive and forget (and no, it wasnt the typical no stripper/no lap dance etc worry that some girls have... had nothing to do with girls)

i just needed to vent and its good to hear all points of view from you girls... thanks!

Awwww Im so sorry!!!

Yea, he prob just knew that you would be angry about it and figured it would be best just to lie over and over b/c if you dont have proof- he cant be guilty. I agree, if he continued to lie about it I would have flipped out.

Is he finally admitting the truth or is he still pleading his case? DH will plead his case unless I have actual proof.... he says that he 'didnt tell me because he knew it would hurt me or that I would be upset' well, Im more upset finding out the truth later and that you lied about it

yep, you described exactly how im feeling... what happened was his best friend's fiance mentioned something that didnt exactly match a detail DH told me... i said something right after in front of his friends... he STILL denied it with this stupid asss smirk on his face.... so then I asked again later on when no one was around and he finally confessed.... it really makes you wonder.... 1 thing i hate is liars... if ive ever felt bad about something, i tell him without him ever having to ask... apparently he is incapable of feeling guilt....

Re: So heated... I need to vent....

It depends on what he lied about...if he lied about going somewhere or having a stripper then yes I would be hurt that I heard about it from someone else but I dont think I would go on rampage because it was one night at his bach party.....however if he crossed the line and cheated or had something done to him or vise versa then I would flip.

i think a lot of times guys try to shelter us not because they want to lie but because they don't want to hurt us (I agree that they shouldn't do anything to hurt us...but at a bach party things happen and as long lines are not crossed let them have that night) but maybe he was just trying to protect you from that....but like I said if it was totally over the line then give him
h e l l

Im sorry you are dealing with this.

Im going to look at a different angle for a moment, but with the caveat that:

1. I am NOT taking his side,
2. I am NOT condoning he lied to you.

So.

Obviously something happened that he KNEW would piss you off. You said no strippers, and there were strippers. You said no lap dace and there was a lap dance.

The issue her is NOT what he did, rather he lied to you about it. But its still not cool that he did SOMETHING.

I think you should let the incident go. It happened, it ****** and he was an ******* for doing something you asked him not to do. I say let it go. You cant change it. Plus if you DONT let it go its going to eat you. Did you read about what you said? Somethig about wanting to get all the other little details and have them come out.

I think that this is one of those things that will just eat you alive the more you dig, and look, and question, and e-mail, and text about it with his friends and their sig others. Its not worth your time or your energy to keep catching him in the lies. He lied. Does it matter that you find out 3 details from person 1, half a detail from person 2, and so on? Then everyone is going to be talking about how YOU are a real Queen B and wont shut up about it. They wont want to be around you because you are interogating everyone at every turn.

Again, I want to be clear that im looking at this from a different perspective. I dont condone anything he did and dont think your wrong!

So I say let the incident go. its NOT worth it.

Now.

Second is, do you trust him? I think you do. Did he cheet on you? Surely not.

Even all that aside, I think you are just pissed and angry and hurt he lied to you. I think its worth it for you to really talk to him and tell him that you are hurt, and getting lied to is something that is a real problem for you. He prob think that lying to you is ok since he sparing your feelings. It might spare you for the incident, but not the LYING.

Have a real conversation with him and tell him how hurtful the lying is to you. Ask him to tell you what happened and you need to know from him because when people are talking about it they are laughing AT you, not with you.

Tell him that as far as your concerned you have this convo and its over. You will let it go and move on.

But he cant lie anymore.

He just doesent get it, and I think by having a REAL convo he will. He does not see your side and he needs to.

But talk about it, and move on, let it go and dont look back. When its over, its over and enjoy being married.

men.

I am with you girl!!! The worst fight me and dh ever had was when he lied to me to cover for his loser best friend!!

it was more the fact that he lied then what actually happened..

i felt that he had more of a loyalty to him than to me.... needless to say.. i left him that night and went back to my mom's house

we were able to talk it out... after he BEGGED me to come back.. but we still did not see that friend for over a year

i may 'forgive' but i will never 'forget'

i just wish your dh would confess it all and get it over with!!! he is just making it soo much worse!!

Re: So heated... I need to vent....

I think most men don't understand the fact that we would rather know the truth than be lied to. I don't care how bad it is I would rather hear the truth from him than find out later that he lied. This only causes you to question your trust in everything he has ever told you. It will also drive you insane and once you lose that trust you will begin fighting over stupid stuff because you are just so angry you have to get it out someway.

im so sorry gina.. you have every right to be upet and angry with him. You know what yes you dont have to share every little thing from the bachlor/bachlorete parties buttt if theres something that that other person knows is a big deal they should tell. Especially if you kept asking an he lied to you

Oh I'm so sorry girl... I agree that sometimes they lie to protect us and they don't understand that it makes it worse... It'll be hard to trust him despite the lies but try to and talk to him. Hopefully if he sees how hurt you are about his behavior and his lies he'll be honest with you about anything else...

i hear ya! they think its not a big deal if they lie cuz it will prevent you from being mad, meanwhile you wouldnt be mad, and your more mad now cuz they lied!!!

try not to stress it too much, its over an done with! but make sure he knows that its better to tell the truth up front than you find out bits and pieces after so this wont happen again!

Big Hugs to you!! Just go to a happy place in your head!! Think positive thoughts and know guys will be guys and act a fool amongst themselves. Doesn't make it right that he lied but I'm sure he didn't want to hurt you or piss you off. His love for you shows in his face. Go look at your wedding pics and feel better!!! YOU and Vinny glowed at your wedding!!!

Guys have a code of honor. We will never break it. As long as he did not cheat, try not to let it bother you.

Guys need that secret something to identify their independence. They coin marriage as 'the ball and chain'.
Let them have it.

HOWEVER

I would have a heart to heart about when you ask something, he should tell you the truth. Not telling you is another story.

Re: So heated... I need to vent....

Men don't get it. FH and I once got in this HUGE fight.. not because of WHAT he lied about.. but because he DID lie about it. Worst part he swore and swore for days that he wasnt lying.. then he said that I was the crazy one and that I was imaging stuff etc.. finally he admitted he did lie. So I FLIPPED.. bc # 1 he did lie, #2 he lied about lying and #3 he tried to make me feel stupid. In the end he learned his lesson...never lie again!

I hope it all works out. It will blow over eventually but I know how you feel right now.. like you want to rip his freaking head off.

I am soooo sorry, being lied to is the WORST. I can understand your frustration. My advice is to talk it through with him, and then, ONLY after you have talked it out, ,,,,try to let it go bc sometimes it causes you more grief to dig for answers with his friends/others. I am sorry you are going through this.
