Im an 08 bride, but Im just curious what made you girls decide to wait so long? I mean it makes perfect sense money wise, there are times i wished we pushed it back... my fiance wanted to wait til 09, but I refused..lol, and now im back and forth (not that i can change it now Im all booked up)

Although it is the money, besides that basically so we can both finish college with somewhat of a clear head..lol. and be a little bit settled. My fiance fought me on it and I wish we didn't have to but it actually was better for both of us.

If you're confident in your relationship, what does it matter if it takes 3 months or 3 years to have the official 'event'. For those of us that do not have the benefit of family members paying for the wedding, which, as we all know, is a huge expense, it logically makes sense to wait and not stress ourselves out as far as money goes.

completely agree... while i do have the benefit of having everything paid for by fam, we're still waitin i want to settle into my career and also live with fh for a while b4 we get married... like u said, if that person is truly for u, then they will be there even if decide to wait 10 yrs!!!

we waited because of school and money. I finish law school this year, and didnt want to be swamped with the 6 months to go planning when I was taking the bar exam, and we wouldnt really be able to afford 20k or so in January of 09 without a loan.

This is true for me too...I just graduated last May and it is so hard to get your footing (money wise) on LI. Everything is super expensive and its crazy to more or less spend money you dont have (especially like us girls whose parents are unable to help pay for a wedding).
Also, 2010 isnt that long away...its only 2 years from now....the time will fly!!
