within the last hour, and apparently, vehicles all along our street were broken into last night!!! Our's were locked, and nothing was missing, but strangely, a small almost full gas container was lying by our mailbox!! The police took it with them, but it's been raining, so I don't know if they'll be able to get any prints off. One of the officers thought they could have been siphoning gas in addition to stealing!! They didn't take tools etc.(We live in a working class area), but if your car was unlocked, they took credit cards, cash, and electronics. In the past, two of our kid's vehicles were robbed of such things, mostly CD's. Donna had a JEEP, that was easy to enter, and our Son didn't lock his car while at a friend's!! Mary MOB

Re: So I got a phone call from our neighbor
That's terrible! Thank goodness nothing was stolen from you!
FH and I live in a great neighborhood, but about 9 months ago our car was broken into. They stole nothing but a $5 bill. The worst part was we had forgotten to lock our doors the night before! So he didn't even need to break in by smashing our window ...

Marissa, it's so strange, because yesterday, when I went on lancasteronline.com, to see if they had reported anything on Hannah, I read an advisory for people to lock their cars, because of this very thing. Usually, I'm up 'til the wee hours as you all know; I wish I would have see them last night, and could have reported them!!!!!!! No doubt they checked our cars to see if they were unlocked!!! Hi, Jennifer!!!! I actually had not thought about them siphoning gas, until the police officer said something about it, then I checked, but I didn't notice anything!! I thought it strange the gas can was lying against our mailbox post; Maybe at that point they got scared and left without it!!! Perhaps when our Son came home at 12:30 last night, they got scared. The police took the can, and I'm hoping, for our neighbors, the gas can leads to an arrest!!!!! Mary MOB

Re: So I got a phone call from our neighbor
my FBIL and FFIL's cars were broken into last week. FBIL didn't realize right away but did say to FH that he felt like someone went in his car. both of them leave their doors unlocked it is for that very reason that i have OCD when it comes to locking my car!!! they took FBIL's wallet and stole his CC and bank card and some cash. I don't get why people leave that stuff in their cars though? but to each his own! Also, I don't understand why whoever did it stole his CC's bc it's not like they'll be able to use it! its traceable! anyways, the thief dumped FBIL's wallet in the CVS parking lot along with a prescription bottle that they stole from FFIL's truck. they prob thought they were getting drugs but it was just vitamins! either way, i'd feel so violated and strange if someone were to get into my car.
hope they find the thief!!!
