So i had to edit a post.....

because i got an email from Jay R Castillo requesting that i take down his prices. Out of respect for him and his buisness i did remove the quotes he gave me from that former post, but i also emailed him and let him know that on LIW we pass around quotes in one form or another all the time.
Of course vendors are going to be lurking on here all the time, but something just erked me when he emailed me to ask me to remove the prices he gave me. To me, as i explained to him, LIW is a forum for all of us brides to shoot ideas, reviews and especially quotes around....that particular vendor may have been too rich for my blood, but its not to say that someone else may wish to spend that much on a service. I was just presenting the info i got to the other girls here.
Just my opinion, and i mean no disrespect to any vendors that show up on here to lurk....but now i feel i need to edit my posts worring about a vendor watching.....booo

That sucks. I dont understand why some RHs and vendors are so against discussing their prices upfront. To me I'd rather know before hand if I can afford it or not before I go and fall in love and then waste my time and theirs. Also discusding things on here the way we do in most ways is free advertisements for these businesses. They should appreciate that.

Agreed. For example as you all know, i went to meet with Gil from fade to black he even told me the only place he advertises is on here! And he realizes that one bad post could be killer, so his service is specatacular!
We're going to be discussing prices, either directly on the board or via FM.
Egh....what can you do.

Something similar happened to me! I posted something about a venue, which I'm not going to mention again, but they emailed me regarding my post. It wasn't negative, but it was just weird. I felt really uncomfortable getting personally emailed about a comment- it felt like stalking!

to say Gil is awesome!!!! You girls booking with him are in good hands.

And the stalking just gets worse. Getting a FM from a vendor you know and are booked with is one thing, but so creepy that the minute you post something like 'might start looking for flowers soon' you have FM quotes within 5 minutes.

I think its one thing for vendors to FM us when we are looking for djs, photo, flowers etc....cause thats now i met gil....but when we post reviews or info, and then that vendor emails or FMs us about that opinion...its totally like stalking and i hate it.
Everyone needs to save their buisness i guess....i'll prob get another email for this thread but at this point, i'm not using that vendor and i really dont care.

yupppp. i got an email from a vendor i started a post asking questions about. Almost every bride wrote something negative about this vendor in response to my inquiry. The vendor emailed me saying that people only talk about the negative and not the positive and invited me in... i'm not going...lol

but that made me think about a diff vendor i questioned on the board. I mentioned the meeting spot was odd and i was wondering if others used them and basically i don't want to be kidnapped LOL. but people wrote great things about that vendor. I hope the vendor didnt see my post then, bc i might wind up wanting to book them!
