One of his friends, a girl, who has gotten into trouble on and off for the past few years is looking to rent an apartment. FH said he would do some online research for her and let her know what he finds. Well, he came up with the bright idea of having her rent one of our bedrooms (we have 3).
I feel bad because she needs a place to live but at the same time, do I want a girl with a troubling past in my house? I feel like I'm being a b*tch for not wanting this
Am I wrong?

No your not wrong. Maybe he could offer her the room for a LITTLE bit while she looks for a place but I def wouldn't want that inconvience around wedding time.

You are definitely not a b*tch and you are not wrong....I 100000000% agree with you and would feel the same way. Not only do you not want a troublemaker in your house but do you really want a roommate? Let alone another female? NO!

I don't think you're wrong. I wouldn't want a girl with a troubled past renting from us either. Its nice that FH wants to help but you guys shouldn't have her rent from you....JMO

i would agree with you and would not want to have this girl living with me. First, i would feel weird having a girl live with fh and i when we are engaged and getting ready to be married. then if she has had some troubles, i think it could lead to a lot of stress and problems that you don't need. i would avoid it.

i would probably feel the same way... i dont think youre wrong... i dont know what you mean by trouble... but if her being there makes you uncomfortable then i would look at some craigslist ads and see if there is anything else avialable

help FH look for an apt. your getting married. You dont need addes stress but it may show that your being the bigger person if you help in the search

ITA!. Maybe you can offer it to her just for a few weeks until she finds something but you are def not wrong for feeling the way that you do.

I think you have a right to object to this. I know I definitely would. Yeah, I'd feel bad for the girl and help her find her OWN apartment, but you can't burden yourself with the world's problems. What if she has the problems all over again and you're caught in the middle? Please tell FH that this is a bad idea, but it's nice of him to want to help.

I AGREE U ARE NOT WRONG, MAYBE YOU CAN GIVE HER A TIME LET HER RENT A ROOM FROM YOU GUYS FOR LIKE 3MTHS ( WHICH WOULD BE RIGHT AFTER THE HOLIDAYS)

That's it. No. My FH has that habit too - to go above and beyond what is necessary for people. Does he really want to start off his life as a newlywed as three's company instead????
