I just received my renewed passport today (it was set to expire in 10 days) and its kinda annoying because in 9 months I'm going to have to do this AGAIN when I change my name! Anyone else going to keep their passport in their maiden name until it expires? Mine won't expire for another 5 years which kind of seems silly that I will always have to book tickets in my maiden name....oh well!
I'm actually getting stressed about all the documents that will need to be changed-like SS, driver's license, passport. Sheesh!

Did you get something in the mail to renew it? I'm prety sure mine was set to expire last year and I never got anything in the mail
I don't think you get anything in mail. I don't even know what address they would have for me when I got my first passport in 2001 so I'm sure they wouldn't be able to find me for a reminder.

I think changing my name on everythjing is a huge hassle. I plan to use FH's last name, but not changing it legally

If you change your name within a year of getting your passport/renewing it - it is free to change you name. . . . . that' what my PO told me because I needed to renew mine, and I will be changing my name in 6 months!

I am changing my name legally right after we get back from our HM. I need my passport changed because we are going to Italy for his cousin's wedding and I don't want to get stuck anywhere and not be able to go

I heard about a website called MissNowMrs.com that makes it easier for you to change your name.
