so i like the idea ...

of how the celebrities have one dress for their ceremony and another for their reception.

I, of course, am poor and cannot do such a thing!!

BUT ... what are some things I could do to make myself look a little different for the reception? i'm going to bustle my dress and take out my veil ... but anything else, fun like, without looking cheap or corny?

You could wear a shawl or jacket over your dress at the ceremony, then take it off for the reception.

What about letting down your hair -- or at least part of it?

What about putting a white flower of some kind in your hair. I always see that in bridal mags and it looks beautiful.

i'm thinking all up in curls. i have a tiara headband that will go in front of the curls and then my veil underneath it.

i could take the veil off and put a flower under that

Cathedral veil for the ceremony and then a shorter one for the reception.

You could change tiaras

I'm not pointing a finger at anyone, but I personally do not like when people change. A wedding is a celebration of two people's love, I don't think it should be a 'show' with costume changes. JMHO.

I was going to have another dress and look, but the week before the wedding I changed my mind for two reasons:

1. Not enough time!!!! You end up missing stuff while you change.

2. One dress is always prettier. Why would I change into a second, less pretty dress? People want to see the dress you wear to the ceremony up close. If you change, they cannot.

Dont change too much. You only get to be a bride once- enjoy your dress, hair, makeup. I think the 2 dress thing is a waste!! Make yourself BEAUTIFUL that day and dont change a thing!!!!!
