This is why we didn't buy non-stick pans.. they scratch so easily. Really the only thing you can use with them is a rubber spatula or those silicon ones....

Also, always wash them with a cloth or sponge NOT a scrubby or a Brillo pad.

FH and I are happy with Calaphon non-stick pan..we only got one.... Our pot set thoguh is non-stick my copper bottoms... my chef husband insists they are the best... . . . . I am forgetting the naem of it now though.... AllClad maybe???.

here's your opportunity to cook healthier!

Nonstick has lots of chemicals that absorb into your food. Not good.

depending upon your budget:

budget, what budget? :
couple all clad stainless steel pots (no nonstick)

a good 12' cast iron skillet (keep it oily, rinse with
water after use, and dry by heating it for a couple min on the stove. don't wash it with detergent, and within a year, it will be a healty nonstick surface that you can use metal utensils with, and will last forever!)

yep, I've got a budget!:
get stainless pots (no nonstick) with an aluminum disk bottom

same 12' cast iron skillet

hope this helps!

what about the calphalon non-sticks? i'm assuming there's some sort of chemical that's in that material... we're registering for the first time tomorrow, so don't want to put something on my list that would be a bad idea in the long run!
