SO I think I have finally had it

SO I think I have finally had it

with myself and my eating habits.

I find myself feeling guilty eating things I know are bad for me or that I know I don't need.

I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I'm soooo uncomfortable in my own skin.

I know people swear by WW and I've been on ediets... those things just don't work for me, I become obsessive about what I'm eating, when I'm eating, where I'm eating... I finish one meal and I'm stressing about the next one... ugh... I have an anxiety attack just thinking about it.

I went to the grocery store today and didn't have to force myself to only buy the things I needed. Staples and things to make lucnhes for work and dinner.

I hope this inititative sticks, because it feels good to eat right because it feels natural, not because I'm forcing myself to.

Hopefully this will also help me to not spend so much money on lunches and snacks at work.

Any tips to keep myself interested?

For tomorrow' breakfast, I have a SPecial K bar, yogurt and grapes. For lunch I have whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce and carrots and string beans. And yogurt again.
And water. A lot of it.

To start myself to 'shrink my stomach' so it'll be easier to diet I'm going to do the 3day diet. I did this a few years back & lets you lose betweeen 7-10lbs after those days. Of course it's not the healthiest of diets but it helps when you want to lose it quickly & get a head start. But one thing to remember with this diet is it's a 3 day diet & then off of it for 4. I myself am in the same boat with you & am at the heaviest I have ever been & losing my baby weight is SO much harder than I imagined!

I'm attaching the link that has some information about the 3 day diet & what foods can be eatten. It wasn't as hard as I imagined when I did it.

Good Luck Jamie! It is a really hard thing that many people struggle with their whole lives. I go through periods where I feel very out of control and eat anything I want and then go through really strict periods where I go insane from restriction!

It is all about learning how to eat and then you'll naturally enjoy healthier foods. It is a smart move not to keep junk in the house! It's too hard not to eat them when they are at your fingertips.

One step at a time. Make weight loss goals in 5 lb increments. Eat a salad and a drink a glass of water before you eat a meal. Cut out juice and sodas. try not to eat late as well, that really helps me when I get strict.

Tips to stay interested? Try different vegetables (stuff in season) and look up recipes. Try different foods from various cultures. Ceviche - healthy and delicious, shabu shabu, etc.

I've recently become obsessed with spagetti squash and jicama. Switch up the stuff you eat.

Also, from what you have planned to eat, I would say that there is too much sugar and not enough lean protein. GRapes and k bars and carrots are fine but you need some lean protein and FIBER in there by the way of green veggies.

Add hard boiled eggs and carry them with you. Do hummus and celery sticks instead of carrots. Grill a bunch of chicken tenders on a sunday and have them with your string beans.

Good Luck JAMIE!

Sometimes all it takes is getting to the point where you've had enough...I've struggled with weight issues pretty much my whole life so I know how hard it is to get on track and stay there. I was at my heaviest 3-4 years into dating FH, right after I quit smoking. I lost 50 lbs since then and have kept it off (about 4 years ago) but the trick for me was to lose it gradually. I lost 20 lbs, then maintained that for a year. Then I lost another 10 and maintained that for a year or two. Now I'm down another 20 and maintaining that ... I would ideally like to lose another 20 lbs before the wedding, so I think I'm going to start excersizing (since that's always been the hardest thing to motivate myself to do)

check the yogurt you are having. i was eating yogurt that was low in calories but high in carbs/sugars so it wasn't helping me at all!

i'm not a big fruit and veggie girl, but lately i've been trying to mix in a little butter or balsamic vinegar just to add some flavor.

also i'll still have stuff that i like - pizza, cookies whatever, but try just for once a week and to really control myself when i do

good luck! its hard but worth it to look and feel better!
