yea...there were many good reasons to have a stadium...now we will wait to see what happens.

imo, the olympics would of been messy here but it could of worked and gotten us some money.

Yes I am releived. I work in Manhattan, commute everyday. I already pay over $200 dollars a month for LIRR/Metrocard. I dont need to pay any more.

i agree...taxes would be way out of line...
they need another funding answer...raises taxes now will only discourge it getting passed.

im sure sombody has money...look at the yankees, building there own stadium...

I actually am relieved. While it would've been cool to have the Olympics here, I think it may have caused more problems than anything else.

I'm so glad NYC lost the bid. I live in Queens and work in Manhattan. I really don't need another 3 million people to mess up my schedule. NY is too small of an area.

I am totally relieved...I am still affected from when the US Open was right down the block & I could not park, get home, go to the store....can you imagine the traffic mess from an Olympics

well, the had a good point about transporation system and how advance it 'can' become by 2012......new lines, etc...

ny would of gained more in 2 weeks had it been here.. now mta has no incentive to build a new lines

Absolutely. For many of the reasons listed above.

I am relieved. I think the money needs to go to more important things in the city like teachers, police officers, firemen etc..

Do you know the starting pay for police officers is going down from $36,000 to something like $25,000. Who the heck can live on that!!

no, I really doubt I would have gotten to an event...but I more wanted it for the stadium, jobs created, revenue, etc.

Would be nice for the jets to have their own place to play!

If we had gotten the bid now they wouldn't have built a new stadium for the Jets. The Mets are building a new stadium, and I heard Bloomberg said if we got the Olympics it would take place there.

I think it would have been cool but I don't live in the city so....

I actually heard that the places that actually held them in the past are in more debt now then ever!

Canada is still trying to recover!
