I think it would have been cool but I don't live in the city so....
I actually heard that the places that actually held them in the past are in more debt now then ever!
Canada is still trying to recover!
while the winter olympics is important...the summer events are much much bigger
LA had an incredible amount of debt after the summer Olympics as well.
And NYC paid a ton of $ in overtime for the Republican convention and that was just a few days.

I'm so glad NYC lost the bid. I live in Queens and work in Manhattan. I really don't need another 3 million people to mess up my schedule. NY is too small of an area.
