SO is it rude to invite co workers closer to the date?
There were some that I was on the fence with, but because our guest list was high already, we nixed it. However, we are getting a decent number of no's, and in case we need to add some, is it rude to do a last minute invite?

no, I think people understand, esp co-workers, that even though may want them there, due to budgets, room contraints, etc. you just can not invite everyone. but as people say no, you can extend invitations to other people.

I dont think it would be rude. They should already know they're not on the 'a' list

I went back and forth with this. Ultimately, we invited a few last minute because I wanted them there and we had no room before. They didn't seem to mind!

It prob depends on the person, but I think most co-workers know that space is limited and wouldn't be offended.

I invited two co-workers last minute. They totally understood.

I ordered enough invites to have a 'B list' in case we get too many no's (the amount we have to guarantee is very close to our actual number).
I'm going to have FH invite people from his side that he originally passed over.
