that does sound like alot for an hour.. and you shouldn't have to pay for their meals... they're only there for an hour & they should be able to just take some cocktail food without you having to pay for that...

ita!!!

I agree with this... they are not playing for the reception why should you have to pay for their meals?? I am not paying for my live music at the cocktail hour. Of course i will pay for the dj and mc, but i see no reason to have to pay for someone who wont even be there when the meal is being served.
i dunno maybe i am wrong, just seems a little off

I booked with Vintage String Quartet(they are a vendor on here) for my ceremony but I know they do CH....and I do think that price is high.

Seems like a lot of money considering you could get a string trio for around $500 and they'll probably play as many songs as it takes to get you through the hour.

ITA - We are paying approx $500/$600 (cant remember the exact amt) for a string trio through our DJ for the cocktail hour...

eta - I also wouldnt think you would have to pay for their meals - especially if they are only going to be there for the CH

I had a harpist (Miriam Shilling) and she was $400 for the ceremony or $500 for the ceremony and cocktail hour. She was great. FM if you want her info.
