Every time I hear a song and hate it, I think to myself 'I really need to start a list' and so today when Edwin McCain came on, the Word Doc began.

Then I did a search on here and came up with so many songs I like and dislike. The list has taken on a life of its' own!

its actually one of the things I have started already. I think if you wait until it's really close, you will forget songs you want/don't want. This way you can just add as you go along.

omg i do that too!!!!!! Except i only write down the songs i definently want my DJ to play lol.
My do not play list is wayyyyyyyy longer than my play list.

I have not physically started one, only mentally. i need to start before I forget. I also don't want my DJ to be crazy as if I am dictating every song to play.

our DJ said not to start too soon before the DO NOT Play list will be really really long because you will want to add all those played out songs that start coming out
im keeping the def must plays and not plays but not seriously doing it until the fall.

I have started already too!! I actually waitress on the weekends and have a list for when I hear songs in my waitressing book. I also carry a mini-notebook that my MOH bought be just for wedding ideas, so I also keep track in there.

everytime I hear a song I love I write it down and add it to my play list of songs. Whoever my DJ is will want to kill me because i'm going to hand him a detailed list of songs and tell him when to play them. He will have no autonomy that day, lol.

Funny thing, I started this list of songs around the same time that I started our guest list. They started a couple of months before FH and I got engaged! lol

Me and FH have a list in my comp for my ipod of every song we wanna add to the list of our play list. so far our list has 3 days worth of music LOL we figured add it now and as the time gets closer we will be removing songs we don't really need played. I've also noticed when at a bar if I hear a song I want played I add it to my notes in my phone LOL
we are telling the dj 'no requests unless bride approves' cause there is plenty of songs I really cant stand and do not want played. Like anything black eyed peas...uugh I cant stand them and I know there are people who enjoy them. Also as much as me and FH love metal I don't want our whole wedding to be metal and hard rock, we need something to dance to and if his friends had there way the whole night would be iron maiden and metallica LOL

Most DJ's and bands have a set list of songs that are party exciters. You'll never get them to play every song on your list. The best they will do for you is 10 must not play songs. As far as must play they will do your special requests and 10 must play. It's easier if you give them an idea of what genre of music you and FH prefer. They only play about 40 songs in the course of the night.

ughh that is not what I want to hear but i'm glad you mentioned it.. Sooo when I go to meet with possible dj vendors I'm going t oask them how they would mind it if I handed them a list of songs to play and only play.. lol... I hope they can download songs I want played and only play the songs I ask of them... can't this be done?? Am I really asking too much if I want the dj to pick my hand selected songs????
