Ah... that's going to take some getting used to!!! People keep calling me Mrs B and it's soooo weird... but in a good way!

You will get a very very thorough review, my dear!! I promise!!! I'm working on it as we speak but I really really want to add pics (I know I'm always a little sad when I have to read a review without pics) so I'm going to try and hold out for the proofs!!!

I know I know that could be awhile -- don't be mad!!!

Okay... I am giving some thought to starting my review minus the proofs. I already started writing it... so I guess I can post it a little at a time right??

Here are some of the details:

As far as SandCastle is concerned they did a great job (though I have some, uh, 'things' to tell you)... what impressed me most is that if there was another wedding there that day, I had NO CLUE. I felt like I had the place to ALL to myself!! This probably wasn't the case since I asked them before hand and they said it was booked for my day but hey -- I could not tell AT ALL!

I was positively BLOWN AWAY by my cocktail hour! It was SO beautiful and amazing and people are STILL raving about it.

Everyone in my family is saying how no one in the family will be able to 'top my wedding', and that I thought of everything, and that they had the most fun they've ever had at a wedding.

A few DAY OF WEDDING POINTERS for ALL Brides to be:


-- LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME FOR PICS!!!! There is just never enough time for pics!!! At least that's how I felt.... so if you think you have enough, add another hour, seriously!!! I don't regret anything and I don't think I missed anything, but still I wish I had had just one more hour for pics.

-- DON'T give your DJ a must play list that is too long. I made a really long one at first and then I realized, what the heck am I paying them for if I have to tell them everything to play? Trust your vendors to do their job, that's why you choose them and are paying them big money. You can't control everything (that's coming from a MAJOR control-freak here) so let it go and leave it in their capable hands. I had to teach myself to do alot of this toward the last few days of my wedding but it paid off in the end. It meant alot less stress for me and alot more fun at the wedding. Also realize that they have to judge your crowd and your party so they know what to play best and when. Not everything on my Must Play list got played (even after trimming it) but I was fine because they did an awesome job anyway!


-- DON'T give your photographer a Must-Take photo list that is too long. HOLY COW did I go crazy on this one. My must-take photo list was at LEAST 6 pages long. Looking back, it was too long. In the end, when Duet showed up, I felt totally confident that they could handle what I wanted without my long-*** list. It should have been 1-2 pages long tops.

More Tips for the Brides to Be

-- table cameras are a MUST IMO I just got my pics back from them and there are some really great shots. But be prepared -- they won't be perfect, not great quality (try to get better quality ones and have your DJ make an announcement about them AND THE FLASH!!) and some won't be returned, and some won't be fully used.

I developed the ones that weren't done anyway because I am an impatient little bride!


*** All the little things that you are considering doing right now but are putting off (especially you girls that only have a couple of weeks to go) DO THEM NOW! RIGHT NOW. Get off your BUTT and do it. Because right now you think that it's no big deal either way and you have plenty of time but suddenly, two days before the wedding, that will become the MOST IMPORTANT THING (or so you think) that you must have and you will go nuts until you get it.

What am I referring to? Cake servers, toppers, a comfy pair of slippers, that lipstick you wanted to wear, pressed powder for your face that day, that little thing you were thinking of pinning to the inside of your gown, nail polish, WHATEVER. Get it now. Because the day before your wedding you will think that your wedding will just be a pure DISASTER if you don't get that 'special pen' you wanted for the girls to sign the bottom of your shoe with.

Of course, that's not the case. It's totally irrational fears, but you don't need that the night before your wedding.

The night before my wedding I was in JC Penny's buying a pair of white satin Ballerina Slippers about 5 mins before closing because I swore I would just die if I didn't have them to change into on my wedding day. Guess what?? I didn't need them AT ALL. BUT, had I bought them two weeks before, I would've been in bed getting my beauty sleep the nite before my wedding instead of at the mall!!!

Okay here are some more tips:


--- I know it's been said a million times but it needs to be said again:

YOU WILL HAVE TO FORCE YOURSELF TO EAT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY!!! You really won't feel hungry so you have to make yourself eat. There was tons of food around me but NO TIME. I took a couple of bites of a bagel and ate some fruit WHILE getting my makeup done.... it's the only time I had! So when the opportunity arises to eat -- do it right then and there!! You won't have time later.

That leads me right into my next tip:

-- if you think of a photo you want to take - tell your photographer and take it right then and there. Again, there won't be time later. If you see your aunt standing idly by and you realize you wanted a pic with her alone don't say 'ok, later' NO -- NOW!! That should be your motto for the wedding day

'Not LATER, NOW!' Cause there won't be a later.

I would have missed out on a ton of pics I wanted if I hadn't done that, I realize now. And there are probably a few I did miss because I didn't jump on the chance when I had it.

Even More Tips!

-- PLEASE have your MOH (or whoever is doing it) practice doing your bustle beforehand. My MOH showed up late to my last fitting and didn't get to actually 'do' the bustle, she just saw it done and the seamstress demonstrated.

I haven't seen pics of my bustle yet but:

1. It took them way too long to bustle my gown (granted it was like a 6-8 point french bustle)

2. I don't think they did it quite right.

So have her practice at least once with her own hands!


--- Take a moment to go into your reception room before it gets filled with guests. Go in there with your DH and admire all your hard work as everything is set up a pristine, the way you dreamed it. I did this and it was one of the BEST moments of the day for both of us. Again, you have to use the 'Now, not later' motto to get this done, but it's so worth it. Thanks to whoever it was on this site that suggested it -- it is one of the best moments of my wedding day because not only did I get a few romantic peaceful moments with my new husband, but I got to see all my planning and hard work in all it's glory.

Enjoy you day! From the moment you wake up to the moment it is over. ENJOY YOURSELF! Accept that silly things might happen..Even BIG things might go wrong, laugh it all off! If the Bride and Groom aren't having fun, nobody will either. I was sooo worried that people would be upset that i didn't go to each and every table, since i danced 95% of my day. NOBODY CARED ONE BIT! IT IS YOUR DAY...PARTY YOUR AZZ OFF!
