Documentary on Kerry to be aired...the Kerry folks are having a sh*$ fit! Evidently it does not expose him in the greatest light.
Unfortunately NY does not get the station I don't think. I think Maryland, Wahington, PA get it.
ETA: I still don't agree w/ biased journalism no matter who's side it's on (although, it's a little more legit when a news station is airing it). I just find it funny that the whole camp is getting their panties in a bunch.

Re: So Kerry can dish it but can not take it...
I knew about 527's and the spending things, i didn't know that the equal time on TV did no apply. I think thre should be stricter rules, because even if one of the liberal PACs wanted to play an anti bush fi;m, no media outlet would allow it.
ETA: I just don't really understand why this is allowed.

The thing is that it isn't allowed, and that's why the Kerry camp is up in arms about it.
Equal time is required of any broadcast radio or television station that does not deem itself a 'News Organization', because news can be opinionated. That's why Fox News and Air America can be obviously biased in whatever direction. However, this 'Documentary' cannot legally be aired without showing Fahrenheit 9/11, or some other left wing 'Documentary.'
As for the Swift Boat Veterans, most of them weren't even PRESENT at the battles they claim Kerry is lying about. Take them with a grain of salt.
Honestly, this ISN'T a case of 'Can dish it out but can't take it,' it's a case of Media Moguls breaking the law and deregulation gone VERY awry.
DOWN WITH MEDIA CONSOLIDATION!!!! (says the dj)

My interpretation of this whole thing and believe you me, that I am in no way a 'bush fan' is that this is like Ted Turner airing an all day marathon of anti Kerry propoganda all day on CNN.....It's not fair, but it is allowed in a way..through loop holes in the law....It can't be helped or governed really....I may be wrong, but this is the way I see it

I personally think they way that candidates campaign is ridiculous.. It's all hot air, with no one really focusing on the issues.
There are commercials, articles, news stories, etc., all feeding into whatever propaganda that is put forth. Regardless, this is the way it is.
It is our job as voters, and responsible Americans (flag waving behind me, band starts playing God Bless America) to take all this information, process it, try to find the answers we are looking for and make a educated decision. This is what happens when you have freedom of speech-- with all good comes some bad.

Seriously, Randi, I cannot agree more. Watching them turn away from questions, even on ridiculously regulated forums like the debates... AIDS in African Americans (VP's) Affirmative Action Responsibility for minimum wage to name a few, with answers of no substance is so sad.

The problem is that this is not a cable station. If it were cable stations it would be different. These are public stations -- ABC, CBS, etc., so they are supposed to adhere to the equal time rule.

INDEED!!!!!!
This irritates me to no end....first we are losing our 1st amendment rights, then the deregulation of media has certain POV being disseminated through multiple channels instead of just one, and now the inequities of broadcast during the campaign......Sheesh, I thought this was America!

Regardless of who you support there is nothing funny about this. This is setting a terrifying precedent -- that a media mogul can air a propoganda film (it doesn't matter whether it is a left-wing film or a right-wing film) on stations he owns without any equal time provisions. On public airwaves no less (this is not cable). This is scary, no matter who you support.
I also agree that this is setting a scary precedent. I think instead of worrying about the content we should worry about the repercussions
