So let talk about gifts. Fh ordered my gift yesterday.

It's a necklace that has to be cusomt made. It looks like this:

The top stone is diamond, the center aquamarine, and the bottom, blue topaz. I can't wait to see it!!!

I am, in turn, buying him a really nice Lazy Boy reclining chair.

What gifts are you getting each other, if any?

nothing here. we're writing notes to each other the night before and exchanging them. between christmas and birthdays and my e-ring i get more than enough.

this is what that entails (be prepared- i'm in a Sentimental mood... or is semi-Mental?)

He gets me to:
listen to him when he's had a bad day
celebrate his good days
be his best friend
motivate him to be the best person i know he can be
tell him when he is wrong (this may be a tad more frequent than the others)
be his best friend
raise our children with him
travel the world with
build a home with
support his dreams
accept his defeats
make his bad days good, and his good days better
build a life with
create memories with
throw him a surprise 30th bday party
throw him a retirement party
stand by his side threw everything that life throws our way
and to share in all his sorrows, joys, obstacles and triumphs
sit next to him, in our matching rocking chairs, after 40+ years of marriage (god willing) and reminisce on what a wonderful life we've had.
He gets me to be his wife.. and he to be my husband.

i dont think we could give each other anything else in the world that could compare to that

(doont say i didnt warn you that i was in 'cheesey- mode' )

Well Tony is getting me LEGALLY that is a gift right there, but I am getting him Yankee tickets for him and the kids and Knicks tickets so he can have fun with his brother. But I have no clue what he is getting me I know he has to do with Jewelry but we will see, I rather do get money to do something for the house, after all he does give me mostly everything he is very good to me

Hmmm, I want to get him something he'll have forever, maybe an antique pocket watch or possibly a fancier wedding band as a surprise, of course I'll still get the boreing old plain one he wants. I don't care what he gets me- I would love it if he wrote me a really nice letter and had someone deliver it to me before the wedding! But...the odds of that... (LOL)!

In my background tradition, when the man gives you the e- ring, the new bride to be and a little help from her parents possibly, get him a watch as an engagement/wedding gift...so I got him the watch he's been dying for....He might pay for the honeymoon as a gift to me, but I don't expect him to, and want him to, we should both pay for it

I was thinking about that last night! Whoa....

Since he and I are such royal nerds, one option I am considering are new wheels for his bicycle. The wheels he currently has have gotten more flats in one year than my wheels in three. If I got him a matching pair, he'll have less to worry about and could finally throw it back in my face when I talk about my 'better' stuff. Romantic, isn't it? I'll have to think of some more 'sentimental' things that would fit into a smaller budget. He loves cigars too, so maybe some of them (no idea how much they are!)
