ARGH! Ok, so, FMIL was talking to me about her dress for the wedding. I don't know how we even got into the discussion. Anyway, some background info, not much needed, JT's parents are giving us not a penny towards our wedding. They showed up to our engagement brunch and did not even give us a card, etc. So, FMIL said, 'I refuse to spend more than 200 dollars on a dress for this wedding. I think it's ridiculous to spend anything more on a stupid dress, and after all, I know I'm just going to be incredibly uncomfortable that day, anyway.' You know what. It took every freaking ounce of self restraint to not scream at this woman. I don't f-ing care how much your dress costs, but don't make ME feel like my wedding is an f-ing financial burden on you when you're not even contributing a goddamned penny towards it. I could not even believe my ears that she was complaining about having to spend money on a dress for herself. It's her f-ing son's wedding. The ONLY wedding she will ever attend for one of her children. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, vent over.

Honestly, I don't care what she spends on her dress. I don't care if she makes it from potato sacks! what I AM mad about is that she is not contributing to this wedding financially, yet has the BALLS to ***** about buying a dress. My parents are paying for 2/3 of the wedding, and would NEVER beotch to me about it. NEVER. It's fine for her to feel that way, but I mean, really, that's ALL you have to pay for, just the dress, and it's already been hinted at to not expect a gift, so it's like, come on now, give me a break. ARGH! Thanks for listening girls!

Maybe she has deeper seeded feelings about her son getting married? Do you guys get along otherwise, meaning before wedding junk or has she always been the wicked witch

We totally get along. She's just a pain in the a$$ all of the time and to everyone. She basically thinks that people do things, ie. get married, have children, get sick, to inconvenience her in some way. She's completely self-centered. I've always had issues with her (internally), but she's never had issues with me at all. She is VERY happy and excited about our wedding, but every now and then shoots me with these comments and I have no idea what the HELL is wrong with her.

OMG! Too funny!
In all honesty, I know I should take it with a grain of salt because she's just a miserable woman, but still, so annoying sometimes. I guess I should have a talk with JT's dad
Re: So, listen to what FMIL said to me.............
so sorry, but as always you acted like a lady and kept your mouth shut and thats even better in many ways, maybe she just wants that bad reaction from you, don't give it to her.

Your FMIL sounds like a very unhappy person to me. Just try to let whatever she says go in one year and out the other, no matter how incredibly annoying it is!
