I swear... I'm on my LAST straw...

I overhear him talking to his aunt who lives in FL. He asks her if she's coming up for the wedding, and she obviously says 'no' (which is a surprise to me). She obviously askes him if he's coming down to visit anytime soon. He says that he can't since he just started his new job, but 'WE'LL BE THERE IN NOVEMBER, SO WE'LL MEET UP SOMETIME THEN.'...

Um... THAT WOULD BE OUR DISNEY HONEYMOON!!!! My blood pressure SKY ROCKETED and I started SWEATING.

He got off the phone and I brought it up to him, and he got mad at me and told me to drop it before it started another argument. I told him that I can't even fit in all the restaurants we want to go to in that short week, much less meeting RELATIVES. Plus, THIS IS OUR HONEYMOON!!! Not a regular, ol' trip to FLORIDA!!! He does NOTHING for the wedding/honeymoon, yet he'll take it upon himself to plan a meetup with his aunt during our HONEYMOON!?!?! I have a 95 year old Great Aunt down there.. I'm not meeting her there during our honeymoon!! If his aunt wants to see us, tell her to come to the wedding! OMG! We're not even going to have a RENTAL CAR! SERIOUSLY SO PISSED OFF. He's like... 'Drop it... we'll break it to her then.' Why even MENTION it to her then? His MOM lives in Florida... we're going to be visiting there, I'm sure... why promise during the honeymoon?

thank you... it really was amazing how I just started SWEATING when I heard him say that. It's just that I am making ALL the plans for the wedding and the honeymoon... I just really resent him coming in and throwing a wrench into my plans by promising his aunt - who isn't coming to our wedding - that we'll meet her! W T F! If I did that... FORGET IT! I can't even imagine if I took it upon myself to make plans with one of my family members during a week that he spent time planning (like THAT would even happen anyway!)

ugh... sorry. That was just so aggravating. Thanks for letting me vent.

I would be annoyed that he told her you would see her without asking you. My aunt lives in Florida and I asked my fiance if we could go to an outside park with them on the last two days of our honeymoon (We are also going to Disney and renting a car the last two days.) He said he didn't see a problem with it, but I made sure I asked. I knew if he made plans with his family members in FL. and didn't ask me I would hae freaked out.

you should definitely just let it be and when it comes up again just refuse to go. You'll only be on your honeymoon ONCE. There are plenty of other times to visit the relatives but the HM is DEFINITELY not one.

Sometimes men just don't think. I'm sure he was just trying to be nice and appease your aunt. Now lets just hope she doesn't remember that and expect you guys to visit. I'd drop it for now, and stick to planning your very full HM- one that's too full to allow for any visits! Silly men....

I would just let her know if she wants to see you then she will have to come to where you are. YOu don't have to devote a whole day to her, just meet her for lunch and then good-bye, if you have time. It really isn't such a big deal.

After all marriage is about compromise, even on your HM

i wouldnt take it so seriously. i thikn he was just trying to be nice and making telephone polite-talk. i dont think he would really commit to it once you guys are on your honeymoon enjoying yourselves!!! and if he does, you can calmly tell him that its not the right time and im really sure he'll get it.
