does anyone else have their wedding cake included with the price of the reception hall? we went and tasted cakes this weekend, and saw that the cake we were getting included was only 9 inches tall! i dont know how that was going to feed 180 people (they said it would) but it was so ridiculous! they make you spend money on the cake becuase no one in their right mind would except a cake like that...... they have some nerve- what a rip off.

Re: so mad!
I know that my bakery made up a sheet cake with the same flavors we had in the wedding cake so when they 'ran out' of wedding cake - people still had a piece - supposedly that's pretty common!

Re: so mad!
A lot of time they show 1 cake in the dining room with only the top layer(s) fresh -the one you cut and the one you take home and then they cut a sheet cake in the back and serve b/c sheet cake is cheaper to make and then reuse lower potion of cake (yuck!). Don't know if this is the situation but I've heard of it so its something to be aware of.

Also they probably cut really small slivers of cake b/c honestly i have been to many weddings where nobody eats the cake. Mine is included in our price too...I guess I will find out when I go for my tasting--hope everything works out!!!

They most likely have sheet cakes to serve the guests with.
