I have been calling my church for over a week and I finally get a call back! We sent in all the Pre Cana paper work in APRIL along with the check (Which they cashed 2 days later). We signed up to in September but I have not received any information as to the dates and such (hence the call)
So the guy tells me that I have to wait to January to take it because he has to fill the fall classes with 2009 couples
We can't take it in January my FH teaches in the city and he coaches he gets home at 9pm almost every night from January to June
vent over - but I am mad! (icon of steam coming from my head)

did you tell them that bc of work related committments you can't do it then? maybe they will let you take it elsewhere instead?

Yeah, he said that they need more people to teach it - and maybe if it's that big of a problem he can teach us at the church in January

Ughh!!!
I swear, all of my wedding problems have stemmed from the church! It seems like everyone is having that problem! You would think that would be the least of our worries!!!

Look at the diocese of Rockville Centre website...we took ours through the diocese and it was at St. Dominic's HS. (Or whatever HS is near Nassau Coliseum). It was 2 Saturdays in a row for about 6 hours a day.
Your church shouldn't have a problem with it, esp of they can't 'fit you in'. I think Sept 2009 is cutting it quite close for 2009 couples anyway!!!!!!!!

You definitely have other options. Look at the drvc.org website - it might be more expensive but at least it'll be more convenient. I dont understand why the churches are so difficult to deal with when it comes to Pre Cana. Shouldn't they be happy that you want to get it over with?
You should definitely be able to take it at a different church. FH and I are getting married on LI but we live in Brooklyn and the Pre Cana program at the church is six weeks every Thurs so it would be REALLY inconvenient for us to attend these classes. We checked with our priest and he said we can go through the DRVC or the Brooklyn Diocese. As long as we get the certificate from the Catholic Church.
