So my friend got married yesterday.....

to a woman, and he's gay. Is it wrong that I see something wrong with this? None of his friends were invited to the wedding.

Why?

He's in the army. He dated my other friend for a long time (also a man), and not many people know he's gay. His parents suspected it and asked another one of our friends and our friend said they really need to talk to their son about that, but they never did

And she found out about his relationship with our other friend and just ignored it. We think this is the reason none of us were invited to teh wedding.

It's terrible that people have to live their lives like that....what forces a person to believe they have to live a lie?
how do things get that bad?
it breaks my heart to know that they won't have the happiness they deserve because of the choices they made....

Do you know for a fact he is gay? I know people that have dated the same gender, but then in one case she decided she cared for this woman, but really missed men & wanted to be with man & in the othe case, the relationship just ended for normal break up reasons, & then she just since has been attracted to men more than women.

ETA, the first doesn't consider herself gay , the second, soemtiems considrs herself bisexual.

No, he does consider himself gay, at least from what he's told us. This is our take on it, although he has not confirmed this, it's just speculation.....She really loves him and I do not think that she wants to believe the truth. He is getting shipped off to Iraq and we really think he just wanted something here godforbid somethign terrible happens to him. We think he wants to have a baby and his fear of death is what prompted all of this. It was a last minute wedding, although a pretty big affair, and that is our take on it. One of our friends was a groomsman, and he said our friend was MISERABLE all day long. He didn't enjoy himself. They kept telling him in the limo it wasn't too late to back out. It just makes me sad because I know from my other friend how hard it is to deal with your sexuality and to be in the army, too must make it even harder. My other friend tells me all the time how deeply saddened he is that his lifestyle is not 'accepted' by all and that he can't bear the thought that he will not just be able to have a wife and have a baby with her. He feels defeated by the fact that he will have to go through the process of adoption, etc., etc. So all in all, I just feel really sad for my friend that he is not in a marriage that he is not fully committed to. Of course he loves her, but I'm sure not in the way a husband should love his wife
