One of my students passed out in class and they can't wake him up. He has been out for 15 minutes and nothing is working. The ambulance just took him to the hospital. I am soooo worried. I hope I find out what happened before I leave today or I won't be able to stop thinking about it. Is it normal to be passed out for that long? The nurse couldn't even get him to wake up with the smelling salts. I hope he is okay

do they have a file on the student?? maybe request to see if he is a diabetic or something, because if u go into insulin shock you can be out for a while .. I hope he is ok!

Okay I just left school and my AP told me that he came to as he was getting into the ambulance but they were bringing him to the hospital to get more info. I probably won't hear anything until tomorrow.

He is in 7th grade. Drugs could be involved but I saw him earlier in the day and he seemed fine. There are no medical conditions on his emergency contact card but who knows. Supposedly he was at the nurse for a few minutes this morning complaining of being dizzy but then he said he felt better and went back to class.

I can't even imagine how you feel! Hope he's better. keep us posted.

I know exactly how you feel! I work with special needs children, and some of them are medically fragile. The ambulance has been called several times for several of my students and it never gets any easier or less worrisome. I'm sorry you had to go through that! I hope your student will be okay!
