So, now I have to rethink....

my favors.

I originally wanted to do maple syrup and possibly a personlaized bag of pancake mix, and my FSIL and FMIL say they are not classy enough.

Any other ideas? I really liked the syrup because it was keeping with the fall theme as well as the fact that we are getting married upstate! Now I'm not so sure!

yeah- I don't really get that either...are you inviting the British Royal family....for a fall thing, I think it's fine.

you should direct your FMIL to Williams Sonom, so she can see just how pricey, if not classy, pancakes and syrup can be!

That's a great idea, especially for a fall/upstate wedding. Maybe you can put one together to show how great it would look.

I LOVE that idea! It is so nice and it's a little different too, which is fabulous. What's not 'classy' enough? I think it's a great idea!

For what it is worth, I would much rather get the syrup and pancake mix than almost all of the other wedding favors I have received....JMO.

I think that is a great idea and more original than most favors I have seen. Try to remember it's YOUR wedding and you should do whatever makes you happy! (Hah! That's such a do as I say not as I do thing!)

YOUR DAY YOUR WAY! I LOVE the maple syrup idea! a lot of people don't even do favors at all anymore (like me). just remind your FMIL about that.

If you want some other fall-themed ideas....I went to a fall wedding upstate a few years back and they gave out maple candy in the shape of a man and a woman as the favors....it's along the same line as the syrup and pancakes...but perhaps easier to transport.

How about wines from Cayuga Lake or that region. We've done wine tastings up there and had some excellent inespensive wines

I am also doing the maple syrup and a recipe for apple pancakes. Everyone who know Fi knows he loves pancake. I think it is a great idea but then I am bias

My FI loves pancakes too!!! Every Sunday 'Can you make me pancakes?' So I figured it would be really nice to write a little letter about it.

I think this is a great idea (syrup/mix)! It's original, creative, and ties in with your theme. What does FH think about it? How upset would the in-laws be if you don't choose something else? I know you need to make some concessions to please future family, but I really think this is a lovely idea.

If you do switch, you could buy containers and fill them with spicy smelling poutpourri, or get pumpkin scented candles.
