So Disney gives discounts for active duty, retired and 100% disabled military members but FH who was in Iraq, got shot at, has had 3 surgeries,is 70% disabled and is one step away from losing use of his arm at 30 doesn't qualify for a discount.....Seriously Disney??? Im contacting corporate and hoping they can help. Thanks for listening I just get so mad when veterans arnt treated right.

I'm so sorry to hear about this and it's unfortunate that you have to go through this. But I'm sure corporate will do the right thing and help you.

Re: So pissed off at Disney...
So because hes not active or retired or 100% disabled he doesnt count? Thats COMPLETE BS!!!There shouldnt be a grey area when it comes to stuff like this. They should just do the right thing. I say we start a LIW petition!!!

As a veteran I can tell you if he was medically retired he definitely qualifies...not sure what his military status is..also if he is permanetly disabled and his card says DAVPRM he qualifies for Disney’s Armed Forces Salute..this is too cover almost anyone who isnt 100% diabled..and then they have the retired and 100% disabled discounts also If you are less than 100% disabled and not DAVPRM then you are not eligible for any regular military discount. But you are eligible for stays and ticket purchasing ability at Shades of Green in the months of September and January only. Anyone who has served honorably is eligible for this benefit with their DD-214.
I sign up for a lot of things this info I got from http://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/disney-discounts/disney-military-discounts-a-confusing-topic-for-disabled-veterans/ I've used this website before and they are usually pretty acurate..Disney id oneof the best companies that does a lot to make sure they provide some type of discounts for military active and non active duty...and no I dont work for Disney..just an informed vet!! Good luck I hope this helps

Oh and I just wanted to say that if the person you get on phone doesnt get it correct ask for a supervisor..here is a link from their site that has a few of the promotions..unfortunately sometimes employees don't have the corect info and veterans have to do a little extra work (which stinks) to get things!! This page lists the number to call for military discount reservations
and THANK YOU to you your family and most of all your FH for his service and sarifice there are no greater heroes in my eyes!!!!

Thanks for the info for Shades of Green. I called and we qualify to stay in September which happens to be when we want to go on our honeymoon. We also get discounts on park tickets and show tickets. They have a shuttle to all parks too. We are definitely going to be staying here! Thank you so so much for recommending it.
