So P**SED !!!!!!!!!

Tuesday I went to RK Bridal to try on my dress that I bought last month. I get there and I try it on with the seamstress and shes like 'Hmm...its a little tight around the hips' And I'm like, yeah thats weird the guy measured me and I have not gained any weight since then. And i know i have big hips and a big a$$et but I measure my hips at least once a month esp since I started planning the wedding. Anyway, the seamstress goes to find the head seamstress who comes over and is like 'hmm, you need at least 2 - 4 inches around your hips...the dress is not fitting right' So she opens unzips the back of the dress in front of the whole dressing room and her and the main seamstress are discussing about how much to let out, while the main seamstress re-measures me and starts shouting out my measurements :( I felt so embarassed. So in the end, the guy who originally ordered my dress ordered the wrong size and they have to re-order a new dress, which is way too big but they 'want to make sure it fits my hips' and then they can tailor the rest of the dress. And the worst part, besides being completely embarassed and my whole self esteem going out the window...the dress wont be in UNTIL JUNE 24!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am so p**sed off!!!!

at least they realized it was their fault and is ordering you a new one and you have time to get it in before your wedding!!!

i agree that you have a right to be upset that they read the numbers out loud, but i have no shame and i would have said something, like, could you please keep your voices down?
and don't worry about the dress. if it comes in, in June, you still have more than enough time to have it altered and ready before the wedding.

That is so wrong! I had a similar experience at David's Bridal. The seamstress that helped me order my dress now claims that this is not the size she told me to order and 'if I want to look beautiful on my wedding day' I should get a bigger size so she can fix it! W*T*F is that?!
I was told by the bridal consultant that the seamstresses do this all the time. The bigger the dress the easier it is for them to work with it.

Thanks LADIES!! I felt like crap especially since I wasnt having a good day (none of my BMs were available to go with me so I went by myself) so this mishap just threw me off! And I love my body, its beautiful but they were all rude (except the original seamstress she was nice). The lady who had to reorder the dress was like 'I have no idea why he ordered that size' and looked at me weird. I wanted to say 'EXCUSE ME!' that is my size and I look damn good!

I think you are so right! The dress they are ordering is really big, like hanging off my chest! And they were like 'I rather get you a bigger size and then tailor it' Such BS!

I'm so sorry you had to deal w/ such freakin' rude people!!!! Like you said, you love your body, IT IS beautiful and that's what matters!!! Just because they're morons and can't do their job, don't let that get to you!!!

I'm so sorry! I had a bad experience trying on dresses there. The lady pretty much called me fat! I left in tears!

June is still PLENTY of time for it to come in. you dont want it sitting around too long. mine came in like 2 weeks ago and my wedding is in 1 month. I would be pissed about the rest of it though.

thats true. June is plenty of time...i'm prolly more peeved about the rest of the un-needed 'shouting my measurements to the world' and the 'didnt measure me right the first time' stuff. Sigh

You totally should - tell them that you are LIW bride and that your bad experience could be spread (even though it is ) and that you should get something in return for your time and embarrassment (even though you have no reason to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
